Never liked the move by the staff to ignore a committed player... I think its entirely fair to say that.
I think it's entirely unfair for both of you to criticize the staff without knowing everything that went on unless you are Cameron, one of his parents, or on the Ohio State basketball coaching staff:shake:

same here. You take a chance on a young kid with an offer then you stick with it then.

I don't think it's about "everything that went on" it's about what didn't go on.

How's that unfair? We all have different opinions about it and we will never know the truth. Matta and all these other coaches are recruiting kids early as heck and I understand that, first coach in gets credit for showing interest and maybe, a future player and I love that. Matta is a genious when it comes to recruiting and that what gets me asking or wondering. I didn't know why I couldn't ask or wonder:( He's going to Pitt, a top 20 program not Cleveland state or some MAC school . I'm happy he's being very polite about it. Just lost on it .

Everytime someone posts something that ask questions about what happened or just don't understand why, theirs always some real sensitive people that cry about it like all we do is bash on OSU staff.

I'd love to hear the staff's explanation and they can't explain it because of NCAA rules. So I'll rephrase: If what Cameron says is true, then I hate the way the staff handled that.

While I don't like the way it appeared it happened it seems like it was a good thing for both sides. OSU let go a player they weren't 100% committed to and the no longer secure offer seemed to dangle a carrot in front of him thus helping improve his game further.

Didn't want to start a thread for this... but it just shows this kind of behavior happens a lot of other places too.

North basketball star considering ASU, UA

Phoenix North High basketball star Daniel Bejarano said he decommitted from Texas and hopes to play at either Arizona State or Arizona.

Bejarano, a 6-foot-5, 203-pound senior swingman who led North to the Class 5A Division II championship last season, had committed to Texas during his sophomore year.

But in recent weeks he didn't feel Texas was still committed to him.

"They weren't communicating with me," he said. "They're getting all these players and forgot about me. I'm not saying they're a bad school. It seemed they wanted something else."

North coach Joseph Bustos said Texas coaches were't coming to see him play as much as Bejarano thought they would.

"They recruited five other guys at his position," Bustos said. "He thought, 'Am I No. 6 or what?'"

Bejarano said he is "50-50" between ASU and UA.

"I'm going to see what they both have," said Bejarano, who averged 21 points and 10 rebounds last season when he made The Arizona Republic's All-Arizona team.

Bejarano said he is working on improving his grade-point average and he still has to take his college-entrance test.
