'10 OH RB Erick Howard (Ohio U Walk-On)

No, I don't think so. Eddie George played a prep year at Fork Union, and then had a full 4 year career here at Ohio State.

It's not quite analogous. Eddie George was in the Fork Union undergrad program, whereas Hyde will be in the Post-graduate program. Regardless, Hyde will not lose any eligibility playing at Furk Union, as it is not a college, but rather a prep school.

Word is if Howard gets his GPA he'll get his offer.
To anyone that might be reading..., one of the clues you're spending too much time on BP is when someone talks about GPA, you're thinking of Great Post Award. Seriously. I spent a whole minute trying to figure out what that post meant. I'm done for the week. Ciao.

Indded...and this is misrepresented all the time..in essence Eddie was at Fork Union for his senior year in high school...not his first year AFTER hight school.

Berry seeing some PT this season seems like a safe bet, and then we'd only need to RS one of Hyde/Smith/Howard to space them out and only have one class with 2 RBs. Then when Boom graduates there's lots of healthy competition for his job.

Just to add because Howard seems like he wants to be a Buckeye so bad, he'd red shirt in a second and wait his time for a couple of years if he has to.
I think the staff wants two backs in this class judging by their offers out.

I hope we're able to stockpile all of that talent at RB! I really really want to see an offer go out to Howard, he's a very talented player imo. A depth chart at RB with Boom, Zoom, Hyde, Berry, Smith, Hall and Howard is very dangerous with each back bringing different skill set to the table. We would have 3 big backs, 2 scatback types, and an everydown RB. Kind of reminiscent of what USC has, but don't let me get too ahead of myself

HOWARD?S FUTURE

Hoover High School running back Erick Howard can breathe a little easier now that he earned a 20 on his ACT. What also will help is news that Hoover will change its grading scale to be more in line with other high schools. Previously, Hoover had a much higher grading scale that made earning A?s and B?s more difficult than it would be at other schools.

Howard needs to boost his GPA from the low 2.0s to about 2.5. If that happens, don?t be surprised if Ohio State offers him a football scholarship.

Howard also can improve his ACT score. He said, on a scale of 1-to-10, he put in about a 7 in preparing for the ACT.

?I hear people crack jokes about me because I have a low GPA, that started when I got in a hole in the previous year,? Howard said. ?Truth is, I felt myself getting smarter preparing for the ACT, and it?s nice to shut up the haters.?

George was at FUMA for a total of four years (Wikipedia, among other sites, says five). He attended his sophomore, junior and senior years and then decided to attend a 4th year as a post-graduate.
