Class of 2010 ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey has already received offers from Tennessee, Oregon and Florida International, affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

However, he's waiting on the hometown Hurricanes, "It would be great to get an offer from Miami. If I get it, I am going to go there. I like the tradition that they have at Miami. It is great to be a Hurricane."

Florida also figures to be in the mix for Godfrey, who threw for 1,287 yards and 13 touchdowns with four interceptions, while running for 345 yards and seven touchdowns last fall.

By Bil Greene...talks about his ability to read defenses...likes Michigan, South Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and Ohio State...Michigan offered immediately after the Miami combine.

Here's my opinion. He is the real deal. He's an outstanding QB that reminds me a lot of current Miami QB Jacory Harris, who came out of Northwestern HS here in Miami, only Godfrey didn't quite have the same supporting cast that Harris did when was at NW. Godfrey's team actually beat NW during the regular season, only to lose to them in a close game in the playoffs. NW wound up the runner up in the state finals, but Central could just as easily have been there.

The situation with the hometown Hurricanes is that Harris already has a year under his belt, so by the time that Godfrey graduates that means that Harris will have only 2 more years at QB and Godfrey would be a QB in waiting, actually an ideal situation for him. I expect the Hurricanes as a result to be lobbing a lot of attention at him.

The only other QB down here that I would take (and over Godfrey), and actually he is way more advanced in his development than Godfrey would be NW QB Teddy Bridgewater, http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/football-recruiting/611887-11-fl-qb-teddy-bridgewater.html who will be a junior this year and led NW to the state finals. I expect Bridgewater to be among the top QBs of the Class of 2011 not just in Florida but nationwide. He's got a lot of Pryor in him...if I can say that here.

He was the best QB I coached against last year. And here are the names I coached against: Aaron Murray 7 on 7, Geno Smith (playoffs).
His size is the only knock. I tell his Dad every time I see him not to let his son play anything but QB.

From CaneSport...USF leads because they have also offered teammates Brandon Gainer and Joshua Reese...Miami is a close second but has not ffered Gainer or Reese and the three would like to go to school together.
