'10 FL QB Jeffrey Godfrey (UCF Verbal)

Then what's the difference between Gardner and Godfrey? Other than one was rumored to be on the verge of committing to OSU and one is pretty much a lock to be a Hurricane if they offer.

What do you mean "what's the difference?" ? Obviously the staff likes Godfrey more than Gardner.

Shoot, I don't care if I evaluate talent for a living I just finished watching Godfrey's highlights and he is better than Gardner. Wow, kid is a really good QB. He is the total package, excluding height. That's the difference.

I don't think that is obvious. Gardner is no longer available. If he was, who knows who gets the offer. I find it hard to believe that Gardner wasn't inline for an offer if Montana wasn't in the picture...unless there were some real character or grade issues in play, especially when we had plenty of time to develop him.

Unless Gardner's time horizon for making a decision was tighter than what the staff wanted. I can't recall if that was hit upon in his (Gardner's) thread.

How sure are we that he does have an offer.

It is now being reported that he does NOT have an offer.

Obviously the confusion is either on Jeffrey or his coach's part...because it was reported to one source that OSU had offered and now that is being refuted.

Do they, though? If Pryor goes down it'd be nice to have a polished QB who doesn't need much work to step in and get the offense going. They already have their project guy in Guiton. Looks to me like they want a more polished guy, as OSUBuckeye4Life said.

Would be interesting to see how the offers would be shaping up if we had landed Boyd.

Then take up your fight with unionfutura.

OSU had no more than 1 guaranteed year (Pryor's junior year) to develop Gardner, which was a major reason he was not offered.

I'm not saying he would have received an offer...but it is not obvious that he wouldn't have. Somebody mentioned (can't remember whom..might have been UF) that you don't bring the staff to attend a juniors basketball game unless offering you are pretty serious about the prospect.

Is Devin less ready to play than Godfrey? Or a less desired QB prospect for our system?

There is nothing to fight about it....

Correct, in late January, during which time Tajh was assuring OSU he was coming, and asking to wear Troy's number. Then Tajh went to Clemson, and OSU suddenly needed a QB who could play right away.

Godfrey is much more polished, but a lot smaller (height and size).
