Mike Farrell (Rivals)...

Oaks Christian's (Westlake Village, Calif.) Nick Montana, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana, received his most recent offer from Florida State, and the 'Noles join Maryland, Ohio State, LSU, South Carolina, Arizona and Stanford as schools that have offered. Montana recently visited Ohio State and currently is at Texas. UCLA, USC, Oregon and many others are showing interest, and there doesn't appear to be any early leader. Notre Dame has shown interest but doesn't appear to be in the game at this point. Montana's father starred with the Irish.

I like our chances as long as USC stays out of the picture. With Texas gone, most of his schools are a long flight from Cali (good for us... the flight home isn't a negative if it's long for everybody else as well)...

Quarterback Nick Montana from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian has landed two more scholarship offers as Notre Dame and Alabama have joined Ohio State, Maryland, South Carolina, LSU, Stanford and Arizona on Montana's offer list.

Montana's older brother Luke is a reserve quarterback for the Fighting Irish and of course his father Joe was a star quarterback for Notre Dame and in the NFL.

Something else to consider, in the line of 'time from home'. It takes more time to drive from San Diego (approx 6 hours w/o heavy LA traffic) to Stanford or Cal than it does to fly from San Diego to Columbus (assuming meet connections). California is a big state, and it's a real pain to traverse by automobile.

Agreed, but isn't he playing at Oaks Christian, north of LA?

FYI, for all of you time calculators that believe travel makes a difference, Joe Montana has a winery in Napa (90 miles north of SF [Berkeley], 120 North of Stanford), Joe's Father lives there & the Montanas spend a great deal of time in Napa.
