Game Thread #1 Texas at #2/#3 tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

Yes. Joe Burrow his final year with LSU is the best college football player I have seen.

I'd say Herschel Walker may have been the best that I've seen. Burrow had one great year; but Herschel had 3.

In college for the University of Georgia from 1980-1982, Herschel Walker's stats include 5,259 rushing yards, 1,616 (freshman), 1,891 (sophomore), and 1,752 (junior), along with 55 total touchdowns over 33 games. He was a three-time consensus All-American, won the 1982 Heisman Trophy, and led Georgia to a national title and three consecutive conference championships.

Texas was #1 because Manning was so wonderful and Sayin not. That game unfolded differently and part of that is the playcalling was designed to protect the quarterback and build his confidence. Great coaching decisions by the team headed by the quarterback whisperer.

Yep. One of the few times I agreed with Day’s uber conservative approach on offense. Between the generally crappy starting field position on most offensive series and Arch throwing anywhere and everywhere but to his receivers while on defense, there was no need to be cute. 14-0 felt like a massive lead.

This post is stunning in the level of "I forgot that dude ever existed " irrelevant he was launched into
I had forgotten his name until reading that, but I remember when it was said, after a pass attempt, that he complained to the ref that he was punched in the mouth by a Buckeyes rusher, no flag. The ref was said to have replied. "That's football, son." Don't know how much of that is true.

Anyways, Guessar and the Cougs were also shutout for 3 quarters. Uncanny similarity there. Bad omen for Arch, lol.
