Carnell Tate was the MVP on offense. Only 2 targets but my gosh what great catches he made in clutch situations. High pointed the first catch when we were pinned on our own goal line on 3rd down (Texas' punter was excellent btw). Then catching the deep TD on the underthrown ball where he was basically getting tackled as the ball arrived to seal the game. Loved it.
The defense probably deserved a shutout in this game. A call went against us late in the 4th quarter where our center was called for a hold and I watched the play a bunch of times and never saw it. We ran a 1-yard gain and were really just trying to run down the clock and the block occurred after the play was over, and there really wasn't much there at all. Peoples was face-masked on the very next play, and no call against Texas, forcing us to punt. Texas' right tackle was releasing a half-count early all game a la the Kansas City Chiefs' right tackle, and was allowed to do so. And on the TD catch, it looked like offensive PI to create separation, and of course that play was upheld as a TD on review.
Thought the defense battled through all those things and getting put in poor starting field positions several times. Loved the goal line stand, and the interception(s). And, our best defensive line player went out of the game with injury and we still held our own despite that and all we lost there in the draft.
