Whole new ballgame boys...we are back in it.

How the hell are we back in it? USC losing to OSU just makes us look worse. We're back in it for a chance of a rematch? Great, that's what I wanted... Unless the Bucks show me something more impressive than so far I am not going to look forward to that rematch.

Yeah, I am. I'd like to think it would be a better game, and maybe if Beanie is healthy, things might go our way.

For those of you that haven't ever been to a rose bowl game, let me break it down for you. A few years ago, my boss goes "I got Rose Bowl tickets" He's scUM alumni, so it was Wolverines VS Trojans. I said "Well sure, we don't play for a few days, let's do this"

It's basically a fucking home game, but it's not like the game vs usc this year. See this year, you had real fans and college kids, at the Rose Bowl you have the douchebag fans with a lot of money. I would love to see us go to the Rose Bowl, but a rematch against USC? I don't know if I like that idea.

Not to be negative, but it is what it is. We may be a different team in January and my opinion may change with TP and Beanie, but right now you won't see me charging forward screaming "WE WANT USC"

Look PC is a class act, I think he's one of the good guys in a field where your job is to be one of the bad guys. He's had one problem with winning a big game, that was Texas, his major problems seem to be his team hearing how great they are and letting it get to them.

Be careful what you ask for.

Go Bucks!

Agree OC. How the hell can we consider ourselves back in it or even want to? Not to mention playing USC again?

Now I'd love to play USC if we were fully healthy and I kne we were a changed team but I don't know that. I think we're going to be better offensively but I don't think we'd change enough to the point where we'd magically take it to USC in the Rose Bowl.

If USC wins out (and they probably will now) they're still goin to the NCG.

Also BYU probably won't make it to the BCS NCG but I was just trying to further prove my point that there are gonna be teams out there with the same record. Because of that I think we should get over looked from a past productivity standpoint. Could you imagine the up cry if OSU goes the NCG over a 1 loss team? HOLY SHIT. Not to mention if we were to lose big again.... I mean what would the players say this time around?

We've already used the whole "not this time!!" or the "This is a statement game" or " Only way to end it is to WIN" we're running out of motivational ploys lol.

You guys think you'll change my mind?

If Beanie stays healthy, ever fiber of my being tells me USC would be beatable. It's a long season, and yeah, if USC wins out, they probably deserve the NC game, but if not, why WOULDN'T I want my team to get a shot at the team that beat them?

Not necessary, I don't even know why this is even being discussed. Seriously. Everyone who thinks we have a shot needs to take off the Scarlet glasses, because we're not playing in the title game no matter how we look for the rest of the year.

..honestly can't believe anyone is even hoping that we get there. Why would we even want to? This team hasn't proven shit. I'd rather win a bowl game this year than lose another title game.

Pardon my harsh comments tonight, I'm drunk and rather pissed that Oregon State had so much success compared to us.

So, is the consensus that, if we make it to the championship, that we don't deserve to be there? Automatically? That is sad, and i won't be party to it. If we win our games, then we deserve to be there as much any of the other "elite" teams. (i'm looking at you USC...)

Yeah, so we haven't won our games. We've lost our last three big games, and we've lost them in rather embarrassing fashion. And we haven't looked particularly good in our wins. So, no, I don't think we deserve to be there, especially if there are more deserving teams and we keep playing like we are.

No, everyone wants to see what Beany and Pryor will be like in an offense. I am not saying "we don't deserve to be there" I am saying, after two weeks ago I need to see something very different over the coming weeks.

I just got back from my running clinic and about fainted when I saw the thread title. Can someone, anyone, explain to me how in the fuck a team like Oregon State, who got killed at Penn State, beats a USC team that kicked our ass? I guess the transitive property says that Penn State will beat us 86-0 this year...

Man you live on the West coast, err, well kind of. PC is a great big game coach, it's those little games he loses. I am not counting USC out, same with us, there's a lot of football left. the Big12 and that conference down south both have a lot of games left.

Wow! Great win for the Beavers. I wasn't going to watch this game (I don't have cable), but when I saw it was 21-0 at the half, I went to a bar. I had a feeling before the game that USC would not cover the spread, but I thought they'd pull out a win. USC started the half like I thought they would, cutting the lead to 7, but that first of three OSU punts that pinned them in the shadow of the goal post (the shank that rolled forever) was the turning point. USC's O did not look comfortable with their backs to the goal line. What the fuck happened to McKnight (or more importantly, the blocking)? The play calling (granted, just in the 2nd half) looked totally different from the 9/13 game. The late INT was on #18 for USC (put your names on the jerseys!), you gotta at least get a hand on that. It will be interesting to see how they spin the greatest team since sliced bread blowing it against a team that lost to Stanford and a team from the "charmin soft" Big Ten. Someone earlier metioned that USC's M.O. is blowing out OOC teams, only to lay an egg against Pac-10 chumps. Too true.

As far as tOSU climbing back into the NC hunt, it's not totally out of the question. Remember when we were out of it after penultimate game last year? Remember last year when the #1 or #2 teams started dropping like flies starting in week 6? USC was the least likey top team to lose a game. At this point, I think Oklahoma has the best shot to go undefeated, but they haven't exactly lived up to expectations lately. Plus, our loss to USC has a built in asterisk. We did not have the best RB in the country that game, nor the full time QB who will be running the show from here on out. You can bet that will be a hot talking point if the tOSU offense comes alive. It's still a long shot to make the NC game, but stranger things have happened (see: last year). A rematch with USC in the Rose Bowl with a healthy team (plus key personel changes) would do me just fine.

I am an LSU fan and thus support the SEC to some degree, but I still want to say that I think the winners of the Big 12 and the SEC deserve to be in the NC now that Ohio St. and USC have lost. Pac-10 and Big 10 are weaker conferences compared to Big 12 and SEC, and with no championship game USC and Ohio St had to go undefeated to get in the NC in my opinion. I just hope a one-loss USC or Ohio St. doesn't get in over 2-loss Oklahoma or a 2-loss Georgia. The Pac 10 and Big 10 just need to get to 12 teams already and get a championship game.

I hope that's the case, but the rest of their schedule is pretty weak. In fact, there was a lot of talk about U$C being left out even if they went undefeated, based on their lack of schedule strength (including tOSU).

I still hold that the winner of the Oklahoma/Missouri Big 12 Championship will be playing either the SEC champion or a team like BYU.

Again, I hope I'm wrong- if Surfer Pete's boys are in Miami, Rose Bowl tix will be really easy for me to get ('cause the Pac 10 ain't sending two teams to the BcS this year).

Let's just stop the season now and hand it over. But with your entire conference in the top-10, there shouldn't be much to worry about.
The Pac 10 and Big 10 just need to get to 12 teams already and get a championship game.
As much money as those generate (THE reason they exist), they are a complete disaster way too often to justify them.

Here we go again. Oklahoma needs to send millions of dollars to Ohio State as a thank you for almost completely hiding their performances the past 4 of 5 years. It never ceases to amaze me that Oklahoma, they who were beaten by LSU, slaughtered by USC, couldn't handle Boise State, and got smoked by WVU... are somehow being screwed over by not making the title game instead of a b10/p10 team. Sure must be nice to have your choke jobs barely remembered by the world.
