I don't see Oden winning the battle in this one. Hibbert has the experience doing the little things that draw fouls and keep him from drawing them. We use our quickness to win this one from the perimeter.
I agree about Oden having to play Hibbert even but Hibbert fouled out of the last game and had 4 today. I see him with as much possibility of fouling out as Greg. Green and Hibbert both in at the same time scares me more.
We will have to defense them and outrebound them.

You better be checking because I'm right behind you and coming fast:)

I did see you back there, passing a bunch of other posters, but not gaining a point on me. :wink2:

Here's a stat - G'Town's 5 starters scored 86 points today. :yow2:

I disagree. In fact, I think it'll be a little easier just because the refs won't be calling ticky-tack fouls since Hibbert is of about the same size. The refs seem to feel obligated to call a foul on Oden just for breathing on smaller players. Oden will be able to let loose a little more. Hibbert will be tough but if the refs let them play I like Oden.

If they duplicate their performance against us They will deserve to win the game But that is going To be very hard for them to do--I think.

It should be a great game. G-Town was my pick to win it all in my "head" bracket (the one of three I've done that didn't have OSU winning as a heart pick), and they're amazingly sound fundamentally. Sapp and Wallace are also very underrated IMO. The key here, I think, is that the Bucks have to finish drives by Conley and Lewis with buckets, trips to the line, or Oden follow stuffs and limit the Hoyas second shots
. If some combination of Hunter, Lighty and Harris want to get in Jeff Green's shirt all day and keep him off the glass that would be nice too.

A tough matchup, but I was having nightmares of Hansborough having Oden on the bench for 25 minutes so I like it better than UNC. The stakes in my household are even higher than for most of us as Mrs. Jagdaddy is a Hoya.

I may have to change my mind. This just in from the post game presser.

Hibbert says -

"It's gonna be like Samson and Delilah - and I'm Samson. It's gonna be like Jonah and the whale - and I'm the whale. It's gonna be like Cain and Abel, and I'm able. It's gonna be like Soddom and Gonorrhea - and I'm Gonorrhea. I'm gonna beat on Greg Oden like God beat on Job. I'm gonna do to him like David did to Bathsheba. I'm gonna turn him into a pillar of salt. Locusts, boils and frogs is just gonna be the start of it. What Nebuchadnezzar done to Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego got nothin' on what I'm gonna do to Greg Oden. He wants to play with me he better bring the jawbone of an ass. And when I'm done with him I am going to have my way with the Ammonites and Edomites. I am the whore of Babylon and I take no prisoners!!!"

Or words to that effect.

I'd say the key to this game for the Bucks is when Hibbert is on the floor get Othello in there and get the Buckeyes running up and down the court. If they get to running, Hibbert will get worn out quick making him extremely limited on the floor. I think Oden is a much better player than Hibbert and if the refs call fouls on both sides of the ball then Oden shouldn't be worried about the REFS taking him out of the game. The Buckeyes have GOT to make their threes in this game also... If they don't I can't see them winning this game. This is going to be an interesting game!

Coming off our win aganist TBA, this is going to be an exciting game. I look forward to watching Oden vs Hibbert and hopefully see Hunter and Oden both going up aganist Hibbert. I think we need to use a big lineup most of the game if we want to come out victorious. Maybe have Conley,Butler,Harris,Hunter and Oden on the floor at the same time. That should wear down G'Town IMO.

hmmm personally i like our matchup vs gtown better but that just me. however there are some big problems. they have more experience and they really go after the ball and are relentless on rebounding. i think our rebounding kinda lacks compared to them because they seem like they want to get the ball at all costs. now on the upside i see them losing the ball alot while driving to the basket or when pressured. they are kinda sloppy with ball handling so i expect some TOs. oden vs hibbert will be interesting. oden elevates waaaay higher and is more athletic but hibbert seems to be really physical and im not sure if hibbert has played against another center his size so it will be interesting. i want some retribution from last year.

I really hope Oden can get it through his head this week about staying out of foul trouble. I want to see him playing 30+ minutes (of regulation), and to not have to be shuffling back and forth because of fouls.

Him against Hibbert should be pretty cool though. I think Oden is the better player, but Hibbert has more experiance. It is going to matter how each of them go into it, because anything can happen.
