#1 Ohio State 67, #2 Georgetown 60 (Final)

I think they'll play a lot of 2-3 zone. Syracuse has won something like 7 of their last 8 match ups with the Hoyas using their 2-3 zone, which admittedly is their bread and butter. I think the Bucks can rebound well enough if Oden stays on the floor. Otherwise, rebounding may be problematic. The Hoyas' guards are underrated shooters IMO, but I'd still pick that poison first.
Their 3pt shooter is Wallace I believe, we will have to keep a good D on him.

Matching up is different than slowing him down...honestly I don't think we can match up anyone with him...hunter isn't athletic enough and lighty isn't big enough...but i do think that they can help slow him down...and then if we are in the zone and force wallace to beat us with threes i like our chances

I really use the terms "matching up" and "slowing him down" synonymously. Otherwise, I agree with your assessment.

Greg will have to help out in the paint but if he leaves Hibbert someone will have to adjust. Backside help .
However, Oden cannot go wondering much to help because we have no one who can contain Hibbert.

I think Dave Lighty has plenty of size to guard Green. I expect to see a lot of Lighty in this game. Green is an excellent player, though, no doubt.

He may have plenty of size but lighty is 6'5'' and green is i think 6'9''...if he is smaller than that i guess i was just assuming because he plays taller...but still a 4'' advantage is pretty big down low

you gotta pick your poison with green...hunter can handle him in the post but might not be able to contain him on the perimeter...i see osu playing a lot of 2-3 ala wiskey in this game....lighty can stay with green..in the post you might have to double down on him a little....gtown can hit the 3 but they are nothing like tenn and memphis...i expect to see green of driving at oden....if the hoyas are jacking up 3's then osu is getting the job done

Syracuse also shot lights-out from three point land in their win over G'Town late in the season. I think we'll also need to do so in order to win tomorrow.

I agree as I am sure that we all do, That we are going to have to play solidly against whoever we play in all facets of the game. But of course we have been doing that to get this far.
I expect we will tomorrow too.

Hoyas rebuild tradition
Resemblance to mid-'80s teams uncanny

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Georgetown is back.
More accurately, Georgetown is back in the Final Four for the first time since 1985. But it's more like the Hoyas -- led once again by a man named John Thompson -- are back from obscurity, not oblivion.
Ohio State fans certainly know that after watching Georgetown eliminate the second-seeded Buckeyes 70-52 last year in an NCAA Tournament second-round game in Dayton.

Todd Jones commentary: Fans should be celebrating demise of the little guys

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Cinderella went back to scrubbing the floors. The plans of the dreamers and schemers have gone up in smoke like all of Ralph Kramden's ideas.

The little-trains-that-could have derailed. Don't weep for them. Rejoice for your own viewing pleasure. You, basketball junkie, have a Final Four sparkling like the Hope Diamond.
Big-name schools. Big-time players.
No complaints here about Ohio State vs. Georgetown and UCLA vs. Florida.

All four teams have at least 30 victories and won their conference regular-season championships. Three won their league tournaments. Three were ranked No. 1 during the season, with Ohio State holding the top spot in the polls now.

I know it probably wont happen, but I think the 2-1-2 would work really well for us. Syracuse ran it when the whooped Georgetown earlier this year. Put Oden in the middle on Hibbert who usually plays around the high post, and then have Hunter or Lighty down low along with Lewis or Harris to take away the back door passes. Too bad we havent ran this very often this year, because I really think it would work, but I dont expect Thad to try and teach his young team a new defense a week before the final four.

When Hibbert usually comes to the high post against a 2-3 zone, it isn't the backdoor cuts that they usually get but he used he looks out to the wings for a jump shot for green or one of the other guys because other teams used the collapse on Hibbert when he gets the ball there. Ohio State shouldn't have that problem because Oden will take care of Hibbert on his own and least when he is as the high post. That is my take from one I saw of the Hoyas during the Big East tournament.

Ohio State hopes Oden is difference in rematch with Hoyas

ATLANTA (AP) ? Greg Oden is struggling to stay on the floor in the NCAA tournament.

Oden has 13 fouls in his last three games. He fouled out against Xavier and finished with four fouls in reduced playing time against Tennessee and Memphis.

Now comes a new test ? 7-foot-2 Roy Hibbert and Georgetown ? in the Final Four. Ohio State?s best chance to win Saturday and advance to the championship game will be for its 7-foot freshman center to avoid foul trouble.

?I have to pick and choose,? Oden said. ?I have to be smart about myself on defense.?
