#1 LSU vs #4 Oklahoma, 4 pm ET on Dec. 28 in Atlanta

Congrats!

Half our fanbase wants to fire our DC for the absolute worst season we’ve had in a while.

But if you consider hat to be “great” (or even slightly better than OK) then you do you.
Let's draw some comparisons between our respective games against Texas, shall we?

LSU allowed 530 yards (409 through the air) while OU allowed only 310 yards of offense while allowing almost half of what you relenquished through the air with just 210 yards. OU also sacked Sam Ehlinger 9 times compared to LSU sacking him 5 times. Ehlinger also had a worse QBR rating against us with a 35.2 compared to a modest 75.4 against a Tiger secondary featuring this year's Thorpe winner. OU also never allowed a single touchdown pass in their game against Texas.

You can say what you want about how you faced Texas very early in the year while OU plays them in their usual second Saturday in October slate, but this OU defense under Alex Grinch is nothing to scoff at. I do expect Joe Burrow and LSU to score some points against this defense as it is certainly far from perfect, but this is our best defense we've had since the early 2000's as we finally got rid of the Stoops brothers' outdated schemes that have failed OU miserably in recent years. Also, Grinch would have been the DC at Ohio State this year if OU didn't offer him such a staggering contract of $1.4 million.

and?

why are you so insistent upon comparing to defense where many wanted the DC to be fired?

maybe had your defense not been in the 120s last year you wouldn’t think barely squeaking into the top 25 was worthy of shit talking.

we consider 25 to be underachieving and reason discuss making changes.

but while we’re at it, remind which team lost to K-fucking-State?

Well by SEC standards, of course ranking below the top 25 is a major disappointment. Playing in the Big XII where half the teams ranked in the top 25 in total offense, being first in the conference in total D is very respectable.

Also, KSU runs an offense that specializes in ball control and running the football. Which is completely different to what LSU runs. It was also their homecoming game and the "Little Apple" is one of the toughest places to play. KSU also ranks 3rd in the nation in time of possession.

Take note, little Tiger. If you want to beat OU, I'd suggest keeping our offense off the field as much as possible.
