#1 LSU vs #4 Oklahoma, 4 pm ET on Dec. 28 in Atlanta

Well, I will say that Clemson worries me as they are inching closer to OU's NCAA record 47-game winning streak as they are just 18 games away. I would like to see them lose this one so I can feel safe about the greatest record in football that has gone 60+ years without being broken.
Before the Fiesta Bowl, I actually had already thought about Clemson having a shot at that record also, which I don't want them to get near, so hopefully LSU stops them at 29.

But I don't buy the 'greatest record in football' part about the 47.

sorry man, just couldn’t resist sharing it.
No need to be sorry, bro. My team deserves to be ripped by the national media after the sh*t show they pulled the other day. Lol!

I hope they don't go to the playoff for the next year or two. They need to add a lot more talent and depth after flushing out the remnants from the Stoops era recruits. Offensively, I know OU will be fine. Defensively, although they've improved a lot from 2018...they still need to add a LOT more talent and depth.

You're probably right. Maybe Alabama's 17 national titles might considered the greatest record in football, but OU winning 47 straight from 1953-57 is pretty darn close in respect to Bama and Notre Dame winning all those national titles. It's like the college football equivalent to UCLA's 88-game winning streak in basketball and it's certainly a more coveted record than Michigan's all-time wins, that's for sure.

coveted by who?

i mean no offense, but being able to claim you’re the “all time winningest team in history” is a lot cooler than saying “we had a stupid long win streak back when these kids great grandparents were playing”.

i don’t know where that record ranks as far as greatest or most coveted, but i know it’s not number 1.

Well considering Michigan started playing football in 1879 and had most of their success before the start of WWII, winning 47 games in a row looks a lot more impressive than having the most all-time wins even though you've played football for 140 years and are now constantly owned by your rival tOSU and chronically underachieve even though you're one of the biggest brands in the history of football.

Ohio State covets that record just so the TTUN fans will stop hanging their hat on it. But knowing them, they'll change to saying they had the most wins record for the longest time.

considering literally nobody outside of OU fans gives a shit about that streak record.
