#1 LSU vs #3 Clemson, CFP Title Game, Mon Jan 13th 8 pm ET from New Orleans

I didn't watch one second of it so two questions for those who did;

1) Was Clemson just not ready for the moment?
2) How did God let this happen to Dabo and the Clemson faithful?

Did he get the dates mixed up? Someone on the LSU side pray harder? I'm curious if Herbstriet shed any light on the topic. He's usually so insightful and all.

Same here. Also, a couple of other questions.

1.A. I have read some refs may have affected the game. Did they make the right call(s)? How did the calls fuck Clemson?

2.A. What happened to Lawrence and the greatest WRs in CFB and did Etienne not produce?

3. How did Dabo the Preacher lose and will he be whining like a bloody cunt today?

My two cents.

Clemson looked ready, focused and fired up. After a few series pinned near their own end zone, LSU started to figure things out. Then Clem’s Son Puffy Roidbacker™ got tossed for headbutting and the field tilted in LSU’s favor.

I won’t speak for God, but I can say the refs were not on Clemson’s side. I generally don’t see as many bad calls as others here often do. That said, the close/subjective ones did Dabo no favors.

Lasting impression: Li’l Trevor hoping to be as good a quarterback as Mr. Joe Burrow is when he grows up.

Edit: Forgot my closer… watching Jeaux’s guys spank Clemson was about 73% as satisfying as watching our guys do it.

So…

I played poker most of the night (won 25.00), then a late supper, then played on my puter. The wife watched the game while playing sugar crush after she got tired of watching some taped shows or somethng.
I wonder what Day is thinking about letting Joe go now. lmao groan cry.
What? Joe transferred in May of 2018 while Meyer was still coach. I don't think Day had much say in the matter.

It's not like going with Haskins was a mistake...

Didn’t watch either, but followed along here (which was tough because there were no real score updates, until I saw people going crazy for Joe). I expected LSU to win big and they did.

Burrow is a damn good player and I’d hate going up against him. He does every thing to win and you better have him dead and buried or he’ll find a way. Great command of the offense- think statistically the best year for a QB ever. Glad he put Dabo in the dirt.

Not ready to put LSU as some greatest team ever. Offense? Sure. But I still think OSU runs and passes all over them between a healthy Fields and Dobbins and of course Day coaching.

Coach O still isn’t a good coach, imo, but that guy can motivate some kids. Crazy cajun sumbitch. Stars were aligned for them this year and they took care of business.

Eh. He lost the job and left. It happens. His meteoric rise has been as fantastic as it has been unexpected. Haskins would've left and competed for a Heisman elsewhere as well.

There really was no wrong answer. Haskins set school records and was a far better QB last year. Fields exceeded all expectations and could be an all time great depending on his development. And we're also assuming Burrows would be the exact same player here today as he is at LSU. No guarantee of that without Brady and those WRs. Day is probably the best or among the best QB coaches in the country, but sometimes things just click with other guys.

I would agree the Clemson targeting was what we used to call spearing back in the day, clear violation. The PI call was a bad call but you lost by 17, 17!!! Even if Clemson had both calls reversed and LSU didn't at least kick a field goal you still would have lost by 3.

There is a word I am looking for as I read all of these Clemson fans crying about officiating. I can't think of the word though...

They just don't understand. The kid is a Buckeye from Ohio and made a business decision that seems to have worked out for him. I honestly hope Etienne does well in the NFL. QB Barbie and Dabo can EABOD though.

Agree!

I (and I assume the same of most Buckeyes) am happy FOR him. It’s too bad he didn’t win the starting spot in Cbus and I have no need for His success at LSU to validate my OSU fandom.

Seems like Carl is a bit needy and an insecure tiger.

Dude has their band doing the 31-0 as his cover photo. I'd call the guy a fucking tool, but I'd hate to insult my favorite band.

Joey Buckets was a fan favorite before he decided to transfer, he's a graduate of this University and has routinely expressed his love for it, the team, coaches and fans. Deal with it, Chad.

edit: Also, don't be a whiny bitch, Chad. Venables just had his ass handed to him.

I think great offensive schemes are showing that his defense is beginning to look dated a bit. Takes some serious talent in the secondary to pressure the QB as much as Venables likes to.

It's not just talent in the secondary, it's going against teams with capable QB's and coaches willing to be creative in the quick passing and screen game. It's easy to pressure and scare average to below average QB play in the ACC. In the B12 where they get high QB recruits and a ton of athletes almost exclusively on offense?... Doesn't work so much.

There is a reason he was only good for a couple years at Oklahoma, and that's even pushing it. They had a decent defense in what... 08? 09 ish? Mostly because they had a ton of talent up front. But even then they gave up 45points to the same Texas team that a flawed Buckeyes defense held to a VERY late 24.
