#1 LSU +4.5 at #2 Bama (ov/un 43.5) Sat 8 ET, CBS

Throwback game. It wasn't an electric game but it was a good one if you like defensive struggles. LSU should win it all if they play up to their potential. Plus LSU has won the last 2 national championships when it was played in New Orleans. It will probably be a third.

9-6 in Big 10 game = lol Big10 worst conf ever

9-6 in SEC = ZOMG BEST GAME EVERA, MUST REMATCH THEY ARE JUST TOOO GOOD AUTO NATIONAL TITLE
The difference here is that both defenses are already proven to be good (at least LSU) defenses. Both defenses have shut down some mighty good offenses.

Yeah, but it's always a criticism from the media that low scoring games in the big ten are only due to the conference being boring and offensively inept, whereas SEC games are only low scoring when it is two championship caliber defenses.

Not to take away from LSU and Alabama in this case, but the world is not full of absolutes.

That's the same thing people would have said in 2002 about Ohio State.

That defense is legit, the special teams look solid, and the offense is "good enough." That's all that matters.
Well this year there are three other undefeated teams, and I'm pretty sure the 2002 Buckeyes scored a Touchdown every game, even if it was in the final minutes.

So make the fucking field goals or stop whining about a rematch.

exactly.
give our defense credit for not letting them close enough to try an easier FG.
50+ yd fgs are not an automatic for very many kickers out there, and we forced them to try 3 from that far out.

i said before the game I didn't want to see a rematch.
I'm a firm believer in "you gotta win your conference" to get to the BCS CG.

after this game, I want no part of Bama again.
that defense is sick.

lots of talk about "missed opportunities" by Bama out there.

they missed some long FG last night.
why aren't more people questioning Saban after that game?

for years now, LSU fans have had to listen to all sorts of criticism of Miles.
if Les had continued to try FGs that were apparently out of range rather than punting and pinning them deep, ESPN would be all over him.

if Les had called for his 1 legged WR to throw a pass when his Heisman candidate RB was starting to gash the defense, he would have been roasted pretty heavily.

even sending in a hobbled Maze to return that punt was questionable.
him not fielding it was HUGE, but even if he had caught it, how effective could he have been on the return when he was noticeably limping?

Bama also got called a couple of times for breaking the huddle with 12 men.
The last one in overtime that forced Bama to change up their play calling in OT.

Saban is without a doubt a great coach.
But "mistakes" like the ones I listed above are the types of decisions/plays that the entire country has used as "evidence" of Miles' incompetence for years now.

last night, the "mad hatter" did not call a single "trick play". nothing that could be considered a "gamble". no "lucky fluke" calls.
just straight up football.
while the midget genius on the other sideline had a couple of noticeable gambles fail miserably.

I'm not suggesting that Les is a better coach than Saban, but i really think it is time to give the man some respect.

He now has a winning record head-to-head against Saban.
He is also the 1st coach since Spurrier in '00-'01 to beat Saban in back to back games.

I'm not going to give Miles any coaching awards, but I did see some costly mistakes on the part of Alabama, both in coaching and QB play.

suit yourself.
i'm just gonna sit back and enjoy what has been a special season for us so far.

I'd love to see LSU/TBPU in the national title game, if only for the Les Miles angle.

That being said- can y'all please play for a championship somewhere other than New Orleans? :)
