1 loss teams. Who you got?

Florida kicked the snot out of LSU and Georgia since their upset loss. USC can't match that ledger. I don't care how badly they beat Wazzu and UW. Stanford beat Wazzu 58-0 today.

I hate to say this, but ...... they did beat us pretty badly. With or without beanie they handed us our asses. That isn't LSU or Georgia, but that does say something.

I've still got Texas and Oklahoma ahead of USC and Florida.

Based on who they've beaten and who they've lost to. I'm not impressed much by margin of victory.

And no way should a 1-loss team jump an undefeated PSU. That's buying into the media and SEC hype.

I think if anybody goes undefeated in a BCS conference they absolutely deserve to be in the title game. If PSU wins out they should be there against the winner of the Big 12 (if it's OkSt or TTU), IMO. I just think the Big 12 is a tougher conference this year so I'd leave the SEC champ (if it's Florida) out.

But we can't really count out the possibility that someone that doesn't win their conference somehow ends up there since it isn't an actual rule. I realistically don't think that would happen unless Kansas or Missouri somehow win the Big 12 beating TTU or OkSU (assuming OU wouldn't get in the CCG in the first place because they'd have to win out and have UT lose another game, I think?) and like Vandy or somebody wins the SEC but if it does then I think we could see OU or USC against undefeated PSU. If they ended up putting two 1-loss teams in ahead of an undefeated PSU I'd seriously :smash:

One thing's for sure..it's gunna be a crazy and exciting final month. God I love college football.

Wasn't the point.

The point was USC and Florida both got upset, and Florida's rebound has been much more impressive.

who knows... i think florida is better than UT, OU and USC (i don't even think USC should be in the convo b/c of strength of schedule). please don't accuse me of "buying into the media and SEC hype" for calling it like i see it. i've watched all those teams play multiple games and PSU isn't as good IMO.

I think Florida has been more impressive than PSU. I'm not buying into hype. I've watched the games, and honestly, I think Florida is the best team in the country.

Seems like UF, regardless of their record, is the general consensus #1 around here. Kirk Herbstreit s gonna gloat nonstop. I'm gonna hide for the remainder of the football season. Probably in a hole.

What can I say... I hate UF. I live in Florida and I cannot stand the UF fans here, so if I have to go through what I went through in 06 & 07 I'm gonna find that hole I was talkin about.

I just can't see them leaving PSU out if they are the only undefeated team in the nation (besides Utah who plays absolutely no one). I think Big XXII vs SEC champs would be best, but it's not gonna happen if PSU wins out. We've blown it the past two NC's, but we are not PSU.

I just watched the game day crew and think I heard Fowler say something about you "have to penalize a one loss team for who they lost to and where, dont you?" This is something I have never understood about the polls and especially how it ties into the hate tOSU feeling out there. My take on any poll is that you vote on the likelyhood of any team being able to beat any other team. I.E. your #1 can beat #2 and everybody below them; #2 can beat everybody except #1 and so forth. If this is the case you have to take into account records of course, but you still should be voting on the likelyhood of 1>2>3 etc.

My current poll would have 1. Florida, 2. USC, 3. Alabama, 4. PSU, 5. ???; assuming neutral field and everybody health. Most of the hate leveled at tOSU to me at least seems to be not some much at us directly, but that we did not belong in the past two NC games because despite our record we were not (in their opinion and apparently in reality too) one of the the two best teams in the country. The same sports writers who were and are bashing the Buckeyes probably voted them in the top 3 or so then turn around and complained that they were in the title game. If they had the balls to vote the way they talked, then chances are the Buckeyes may have dropped enough in the BCS final rankings to not end up 1 or 2. If you think a two loss team is better than an undefeated team then vote that way. The number one team should never have a losing record :wink2:, but they also do not necessarily have to be undefeated either.

that's a whole new can of worms. personally, i don't know how i'd vote(what methodology i'd use). whether its by record/ladder theory or who would beat who theory. my gut says who would beat who is the best. unfortunately, that isn't how its done. i agree with your poll, but look at how much different it is than the consensus.

for this thread, i was just curious how people would call it if they were the one calling the shot. i have no interest in debating what will likely happen in real life. there are other threads for that:biggrin:

Ok, a non bias look at my polls would be, 1. The Ohio State University 2. Ohio State 3. :osu: 4. OSU 5. OH-IO (ohio state university).

That's strictly unbiased. no bull.

I would put Ohio State over The Ohio State University, but I guess it doesn't matter because under that scenario they would be playing each other for the national title anyway. They can settle it on the field. :oh:
