1 loss teams. Who you got?

fourteenandoh

My swing feels like an unfolding lawn chair.
Texas
Oklahoma
USC
Florida
Oklahoma St

there are others but these are the contenders.

I can't differentiate between USC and Florida. They both stumbled, but they have both demolished everyone else. USC's defense is unbelievable. However, Florida has beated LSU and UGA so I give them the nod. Anyone else?

I'll take Florida as the best of the one loss teams, though I don't know if I would say they have the best chance of getting to the national title game because I think one of the one loss Big 12 teams would get the edge schedule wise.

Looking at all the 1 loss teams makes me thing that PSU doesn't have a chance. Even though they might get it, but something tells me I don't want them to for the Big Ten's sake. O well, the Big Ten might be down, but I have a feeling we're getting better. At least hoping we're getting better.

yeah, that's kinda what I'm getting at. this is one hell of a group here.

I agree..I'd take Florida over USC because of those two big wins. They've looked absolutely unstoppable since their loss.

I still think Texas is the best 1-loss team even though they played pretty trashy in the first half tonight. I mean, going through 4 top-15 teams in 4 consecutive weeks is pretty insane..they looked fabulous against OU and just torched Mizzou, but they've also shown in the past two weeks that they're still capable of battling back to make it a game when they haven't played their best. UT and UF would be an excellent game, IMO. PLAYOFF!

Can't really take OU or Ok St since UT beat them both :roll2:

Bucks best 2-loss team?

If Bama loses to Florida and Tech loses to either OK State or Oklahoma do you put two one loss teams over an undefeated Penn State in the title game?

If State goes undefeated and no one else does..... they go to the title game. If they go undefeated they deserve to be rewarded. It takes a good team to go week in and week out with a W. USC and UF definitely show how difficult it is regardless of who they play that given week, but to narrow it down Oregon State and Ole Miss.

The above scenario scares the crap outta me (as per earlier post).

since it doesn't involve tOSU i think I can give a non-biased opinion. i say leave PSU out. SEC winner (florida) vs Big 12 winner (texas/ok st/TTU/ok) is my NC game. even in that scenario USC has every right to be [censored]ed because they are demolishing everyone. their achilles is their schedule IMO. even though they both lost to [censored] teams, at least florida can point to LSU, UGA and bama (going along with the scenario put forth). thats my late night, 6 beers deep opinion. have at it...

I just can't see them leaving PSU out if they are the only undefeated team in the nation (besides Utah who plays absolutely no one). I think Big XXII vs SEC champs would be best, but it's not gonna happen if PSU wins out. We've blown it the past two NC's, but we are not PSU.

Unless their DL covers their weaknesses, PSU's secondary would get worked by Texas Tech, imo.

that's a totally valid opinion, but i'm more interested in what people's personal opinions are if they were calling the shots. sounds like you are all about florida vs B12 champ. is that right?

I would personally have trouble leaving an undefeated Penn State team out of the national title game if they were the only undefeated team from a BCS conference. I'd even have a hard time leaving them out if they are one of two undefeated teams from a BCS conference. It's extremely difficult to go week in and week out without dropping a game. It doesn't matter what conference, division, or league you play in. Going undefeated means you were there both mentally and physically each and every week. It's hard to keep that kind of focus for an entire season.

Florida kicked the snot out of LSU and Georgia since their upset loss. USC can't match that ledger. I don't care how badly they beat Wazzu and UW. Stanford beat Wazzu 58-0 today.
