'09 TN WR Marlon Brown (Georgia Signee)

Mostly speculation but he just doesn't seem to be to interested in the buckeyes. I think USC and Notre Dame have the best shot at getting him outside of the sec schools. He got really excited when Pete Carrol showed up at school.

Shoot, Id be excited too. Has tVest made a visit yet?

Clemson In The Race For Big Receiver

By Phil Kornblut
Clemson has worked its way into solid position with WR Marlon Brown (6-5 205) of Memphis. Brown said he has about 20 total offers and of those, Clemson is in his group of highest interest. He also likes Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Florida, Ohio State, LSU, Texas Tech, Florida State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Stanford, Alabama and Miami. "I hear from coach Rumph every couple of weeks," Brown said of his Clemson recruiter. "I don't have any favorites. "I'm looking at the academics, great coaching, and a spread offense." Brown has never been to Clemson and has not taken any visits this spring. Some of the visits he plans to take will be to Florida, Southern Cal, Kentucky, Tennessee, Stanford, Texas Tech and Notre Dame.

GoVols: Brown awed by recruiting attention

The catch? Brown awed by recruiting attention

By Dave Hooker

Reading college football prospects is far more challenging than tea leaves or tarot cards.

That being said, a pattern seems to be developing with Marlon Brown, a pattern that Tennessee coaches can't help but be encouraged by.

For instance, the 6-foot-5 205-pound receiver from Harding Academy in Memphis has only taken one trip to inspect one of the many colleges that have offered him a scholarship. That trip was to Knoxville late last month. No other trips are scheduled.

After meeting with UT's coaches and seeing its campus, Brown even goes so far as to say he could see himself playing for the Vols.

But just when it seems like the clouds in the crystal ball are parting, Brown is quick to point out that UT isn't leading for his services. No one is.

"Right now, I'm just wide open," said Brown, who many believe is the top prospect in the state.

cont'd...

Hopefully he'll consult with some NFL scouts and they will tell him the best place to go would be tOSU.

Only two things I don't like about this guy:

1. he tackles like Chris Gamble, or Deion Sanders -- with this hands, trying to stay on his feet...

2. he "popped" his jersey a couple of times. If he comes to Ohio State he could break Santonio Holmes' record for celebration penalties!

How many did SH have, 15 or 20??

Go Bucks!

UCLA & Missouri have offered. Plans on attending the USC Rising Stars Camp. Says he'll probably cut his list to 10 or 12 schools this summer.

From the Georgia site....Georgia, Tennessee & Michigan coaches visited Brown on Monday. Oklahoma & Notre Dame coaches visited last week and he expects USC & Stanford coaches to visit next. Says he's down to about 17 schools including Oklahoma, USC, Stanford, UCLA, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, FSU, LSU & Ohio State. Says that he has become friends with Matt Barkley (USC commit) & Aaron Murray (UGA commit).
