i stopped trying to understand 17/18 year olds a long time ago...True, but I think the timing with respect to his visit to The Game comes into play more than it happening to be his birthday.

And "generally" you aren't filling up a class of 20+ by june, with many big names also interested, forcing you to crunch the numbers. But "generally" didn't apply here, and so they went against their typical approach and asked for verbals from their DB offers.HailToMichigan;1310775; said:Generally I don't think you tell a guy "commit now or forever hold your peace" (to paraphrase) if he's your first choice. Wouldn't you be more willing to be patient with your first choice and wait as long as you need to? I think coaches tell that to guys who they like but don't like as much as somebody else, because it means "you're good but not good enough to hold a spot for" whereas the top choice, you'll definitely hold that spot.

Vlad needs to do whats best for him, and if he feels like he can make it to the NFL at scUM as opposed to tOSU than more power to him............
He would be a great addition, and I hope he does whats right for him, his family, and his career. We would love to have him at DB-U.
