'09 FL LB/S Frankie Telfort (Southern Cal Signee)

Just watched his film and my thoughts:

Moves extremely well laterally, great closing speed, shoots the gap wonderfully, great athleticism, and has a knack for big plays. He is undersized but I wouldn't rule out LB...remind me of Rolle quite a bit. Extremely impressed with Telfort and I think he can play safety or LB. If he was a bit bigger, he would probably be a 5 star.

From the Clemson site....Says that Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, USC & Clemson are recruiting him the hardest. Talks about his interest in Clemson. Says he is looking for tradition, education, his major and being able to get good vibes from coaches. Plans on taking all of his officals and making a decision on signing day.

A very good read, thanks MD. I don't remember a/the 7on7 that Berry and Marc attended. I only remember the spring game....am I wrong?

Not sure what you are asking here?

Telfort wasn't at the spring game and he was on the same team with those guys at the 7 on 7...

The way the Telfort quote reads to me in the article in reference to Ohio State and his assessment of us so far, is that Berry and Marc played/attended a 7on7 in Columbus(no mention of the spring game), which Telfort obviously did not attend, and from this 7on7 tourney that Berry and Marc attended, he has their report of the team, coaches, campus, facilities, etc.

I'm saying that I think Frankie is mistaken in that the spring game is what they were here for so far, only, and have not as yet, participated in a 7on7 in Columbus, that's all. I am aware that they have participated together in 7on7 elsewhere...but, just not in Columbus.

Clemson Making Push For Miami Backer

By Phil Kornblut
LB Frankie Telfort (5-11 205) of Miami is a highly recruited prospect with 32 offers right now including Clemson and USC. Clemson is working him pretty hard while he said he's not hearing that much from USC. "Clemson is really interested," Telfort said. "Coach Blackwell has been calling my coach a lot, and he visited the school during the spring." Telfort said he'll narrow his list later in the summer and all the schools are equal. "I'm looking at the academics and whether pre-med or medical school is attached to the school," he said. Telfort will not attend any camps though he said he might go to Florida's Friday Night Lights camp as a specator. Among his other offers are Rutgers, Alabama, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Oregon, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida and West Virginia. Last season Telfort had 66 tackles, four forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles in just half a season. He missed half the campaign with a torn ligament in his right thumb.

From IrishIllustrated....Says he will be looking for a school with a strong pre-med or pharmacy program. Plans on visiting several schools in the South sometime in July and will start taking his officials sometime this fall. Talks about his contact with the USC & Notre Dame staffs.
