Why did rivals drop him from 5 star status?Well I think he will end up at SLB.A kid this big that runs a 4.5 does'nt end up playing DE.Ecspecially when he's got great LB skills like he does.
How about Gholston and Kudla? They were about the same size when they came in.

Didn't make a good transition to DE...he will have plenty of opportunity to get bumped back up with a good showing at the AA workouts & game.

Seems to me like Pitt came out of nowhere and is looking like the favorite (I guess they do want a package deal). That article makes it seem like he was told he could play LB at tOSU, I wasn't aware that was the case, but maybe I just interpreted it wrong.

Cam Saddler set it off for Pitt...there are a number of PA kids who are suddenly considering a commitment to Pitt after Cam pledged.

Pittsburgh Gazette

From Central to Pitt?
Don't be surprised if three Central Catholic players make verbal commitments to Pitt in the next few weeks. Quarterback Tino Sunseri, fullback-defensive end Dan Vaughan and running back-defensive back Andrew Taglianetti have scholarship offers from Pitt and all are seriously considering the Panthers.
"After [Gateway's] Cam Saddler committed this week [to Pitt], everyone kind of said, 'Maybe we should just go join him,'" Taglianetti said. "It's definitely a consideration. We'll see what happens, but we definitely do all like Pitt."
Pitt also has offered Central Catholic tight end-defensive end Quentin Williams, but he doesn't seem as interested in Pitt as the others.
Sunseri said yesterday he might make a decision in the next few days. He had committed to Louisville in the spring, but eventually opened up his recruiting and looked elsewhere. He still is considering Louisville.

Ever since we have have gotten back in touch with Shayne, he has been saying we want him at LB, mainly OLB, which leads me to believe the LEO position. IMO, this is due to the pending move of Jermale Hines to RB... but could be just because the staff wants another 6'4" 240lb defensive monster who runs a 4.6 and will whatever it takes to reel him in .

The top PA recruiting writer I read, Chris Dokish, said he thinks Hale will end up at Pitt now and as of a week ago he said Pitt wasn't even on his list anymore. Two weeks ago, Wannstedt was hanging by a thread, then he got a contract extension, beat his hated rival in front of the country which got Saddler to change his mind, then Saddler may be getting Hale to come aboard. And they are all friends with Corey Brown and Dorian Bell, too. And yesterday Pitt got a commitment from the top juco QB in the country, who they expect to start right away. Amazing how fast things have changed. We definitely can't have Pitt turn into a top program. Wannstedt was having excellent classes when the team sucked. I don't even want to think how good he can recruit when he had a good team to recruit them to.
