'08 PA LB Shayne Hale (Pitt signee)

Gateway's Shayne Hale (6 feet 3, 235 pounds), ranked among the top linebackers in the country, has decided he will choose among West Virginia, Michigan, Virginia and Ohio State. He was offered scholarships by schools across the country, but neither Pitt nor Penn State made his final list.

"There is no big reason why," Hale said. "I just want to get away a little more than staying around here."

West Virginia also is in the running for Hale's Gateway teammate, Cameron Saddler. A slotback-receiver, Saddler (5-7, 165) has trimmed his list to West Virginia, Michigan, Virginia and Syracuse.

Interesting... Scout $ by Allen Wallace

OSU has the slight lead. Shayne appears VERY high on the Bucks and sounds as if WVU is behind us on my speculation. Also nice to see it's from a neutral source.

It's free for now... I am not sure if they will keep ti that way. But it was nice to see a long paragraph of all the things Shayne was high on the Bucks for, while only giving a few words on Michigan and West Virginia. Veeery nice update for us indeed.

Also says he's up to 6'4" and 240. I can just imagine how big he'll be when he steps foot on the campus of where ever he's going...

They make quite the combo, the quiet giant and the talkative speedster. Pic taken yesterday (gallery coming soon).

Sorry Mods, I couldn't resist.

Anyway, Hale has maintained throughout the process that he could very well go to a different school than Saddler and has now stated we are his leader out of the "Final 4."

When he gets around Saddler the tone changes. I have a hard time believing that when it comes down to signing the dotted line that he doesn't go with the feelings he seems to convey when he is by himself.

Time will tell.

That was a great update. I wonder if Saddler will ever acknowledge that the package may not be a lock? I wouldn't bet on it. He did seem very impressed with what OSU brings to the table.

First off, this is my first post on this site (I'm a UM fan don't kill me  ) and I wanted to comment on how nice this site is.

That being said, I really feel that it's going to come down to yet another UM/OSU battle. Obviously it looks as if OSU has the edge right now but if they are a package deal, I really feel they'll head to UM instead of WVU/UVA. I don't like the looks of that last article from a UM perspective, but anything can happen. If I were a betting man I'd say they come seperately and Hale ends up at OSU, Saddler at WVU. Though I'd love a package deal to Michigan.

First off, even though I'm not a fan of the players on your signature, that is a pretty sweet effect  Second, I tend to agree with you. Based on that article, it seems like WVU is in 2nd but he never says anything concrete about it. I was purely speculating as to who was behind OSU but this one is likely still far from over.
