Woods, family are optimistic after surgery

Strongsville senior D.J. Woods and his family were optimistic after the star receiver had exploratory surgery on his back Monday.
"D.J. is in very good spirits," his mother, Kelly Woods, said after speaking with doctors at Akron General Hospital. "We don't think it is as bad as we thought it was. We don't think it was a tumor, but we won't know the results for sure until Wednesday."
Woods has missed Strongsville's past three games with a sore lower back. Doctors were concerned the image they saw on a full-body MRI of Woods nearly two weeks ago was a tumor.
Woods, a University of Nebraska recruit, has been bolstered by support from the community.
"People have been awesome," Kelly Woods said. "D.J. got calls from the Glenville team, from the Berea team, from other players and coaches. We're thankful for all of the prayers."

DJ Backs out of committment

Does he still hold an offer from us? Since he was recruited as a CB and Howard just commtitted is his schollie bye-bye??

I really think DJ is awesome. I say he is still welcome and should he realize that the pot of gold was right here in his back yard then we can say no one will run outside on us or complete any passes outside. Come on 3.94 shuttle is rediculous!

The offer is off the table. I think he's looking at WVU and PSU now.

He has his chance and threw it back in the staff's face the day after the offer. I wish the kid well and I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with his back. But I think the ship sailed the day he committed to Nebraska.

Sounds like he may be interested in staying closer to home. He seemed to like the atmosphere at PSU even though they got spanked. I can't see him playing @ OSU, not with the schollie limitations and being really high on the lists of some big-time talent still.

From the UC site...made an unofficial for the WVU game. Making an official to Auburn for the Iron Bowl and considering officials to Penn State and WVU. Already made an official to Iowa.
