Many of these kids would be wise to commit before their Senior season to focus on their season, and avoid an injury and lose their ship. I hope DJ commits to tOSU soon. Does anyone know his grade situation? I have heard mixed messages.

The coaching staff would not have offered if his grades were not in order.

I think grades were the main hold-up on the offer...the offer being tendered now means the staff is satisfied with D.J.'s grade situation.

That is not accurate...right now JT and the staff have very little wiggle room on borderline kids. You might be referring to years past when Coop and Earle Bruce were able to get kids like Reggie Germany and Andy Katzenmoyer in with no problem, but the current staff has had their hand forced by the admissions department a number of times in the last couple of years. As an OSU coach myself (not football), I can tell you that getting student-athletes into OSU nowadays is no easy task...they had better have just as strong of an academic resume as any other student applying.

The academics have come a long way since the days of a Derek Ross. I read speculation that the coaches do get special wiggle room for 1-2 recruits each year. Maybe Ray Small fits that description.

Allow me to state the obvious, I love our chances here. Strongsville in an exit off I-71 just south of Cleveland. The family could leave close to 10;00 AM for a noon kickoff.:)

If you leave the Ville by 7:30am, you'll be on Lane Ave by 9:20. Made that drive plenty of times...

I'm not really confident that DJ's going coming here. He wants to play WR and other big-time programs, such as Penn State, are recruiting him at that position. Plus, it may have hurt his feelings a little that he wasn't on Ohio State's A+ list. I think we wanted this Ohio State offer so badly for motives relating to vanity. Though he is a fine prospect and would be a great addition to this class, I simply don't see him coming here like I would see Pead coming here if the latter were offered.

It had nothing to do with that. He had to show the staff that he was willing to get it done in the classroom. Hence, the offer right after the A in his summer school class.

Tre3, I sense your feelings are hurt. Are you okay?
