Leading Mooney's offensive charge was quarterback Dan McCarthy, who gained 140 yards on 13 carries, including a 3-yard touchdown run. Mooney also scored a touchdown on the only pass McCarthy completed, a 25-yard toss to Ryan Babyak.

My Take: Out of all of the Mooney kids, McCarthy is the one obvious tOSU talent-wise. He has a serious burst, excellent lateral movement, peripheral vision, and changes direction as well as anyone I've seen in the 08 bunch thus far. Great early offer.

My Take: He is an amazing athlete and it is clear why he received the early offer. There isnt enough film of him at db to really get a read on that, but you can tell his change of direction and his speed from all the long runs he makes from the QB position.

McCarthy added 123 on 17 carries....McCarthy also completed 2 of 6 passes for 25 yards for Mooney, which has gone 31-5 over the past three seasons.

Youngstown Mooney 32, Watterson 14


Dan McCarthy threw a touchdown pass and scored on a 41-yard run, and host Youngstown Mooney (9-0) beat Watterson (7-3) in a nonleague game.

Sam Jacobs rushed for two touchdowns for Watterson, which was outscored 26-7 after leading 7-6 after the first quarter.

Should be a great game... I was trying to go up and see them, as I haven't gotten a chance to see Mooney with McCarthy at the helm, but I don't think it's going to happen... Stupid Thanksgiving... :)
