'07 OH QB Chris Smith (Marshall signee)

Video on Smith on Sunshine Preps. I am all for waiting for camp to offer but I really think he is the best QB I have seen on film that we have a shot at(including Nowels, Belton, ect.). Good size, strength, mobility, very strong arm but uses touch when he needs to, good accuracy, quick release, and can throw a beautiful deep ball. Only thing I question is of course his competition but his team isn't all world either though. He also has decent moves.

Smith 3/17

I watched him last year and told posters that I was very impressed with him. I thought he had a great arm, good feet, and could throw the touch pass. He is a very tough runner also. He reminds me of an athletic Craig Krenzel, with a cannon or a Troy Smith type without the wheels. I hope he camps at tOSU and gets an offer. Go Bucks

Wow

That kid is a stud. Hope the Bucks can land him.

1. Does he have an O-Line? He is running for his life on almost every play, and throws on the run or off his back foot...impressive.

2. Why do the DB's let two of his recievers get open deep with 25 yards seperation? His arm strength must be phenomenal.

My thoughts as well. Those receivers were wide open at times but his arm strength is evident. It was also evident he had no help from his line at all and he still made plays. Sign me up as someone who would love to see Smith be our QB in this class.

grad,

What do you feel are Chris' weaknesses that he needs to improve upon to earn himself an offer? Who do you think is the top QB on the board right now?

At this moment it sounds like Andrew Knowels, but I wish we could get an update about Sam Proctor...

There will be one scholarship offer for a QB this year, and Smiths chances arent as good as everyone here thinks...

First, let me say I think Chris Smith is an excellent football player..I just don't see him as a major prospect. By major, I mean upper B10 tier..on the film I saw a fighter...a kid who took advantage of break downs in HS defenses he will not see in college defenses. I like him, but no more than an Iowa level or MAC level QB.

Thanks for the insight, grad.

When I saw Chris play last year, he had some nice skill players around him but a horrible line. He is great when things fall apart, much like Troy S. does. He is scrappy, but his arm is awesome. I saw the video of the kid from florida and its not even close on arm strength. If Chris is mid to low big ten material then I guess he is pretty good, I remember a big time whipping by that Iowa qb, that we have to face again. Go Bucks
