'07 OH QB Chris Smith (Marshall signee)

if smith is a signing day offer for the '07 class, then osu is probably the odds on favorite. what could end up being troublesome and possible is if osu waits until camp to extend qb offers and some other teams press him hard. it does seem that smith has been a target for a while now versus belton, babb and some others.
I agree tsteele. If we offer him right away, I too think we are in the driver's seat. In fact, I've had someone tell me that if we offered early, he may commit right away.

A big NO to this question... Tennessee was only a rumored favorite and never really had an edge for Chris.

I think we have a good chance to land him next year. The question will be how bad will they want a qb next year.

Right now we have 3 back to back to back. I don't think they will need one, so they could seperate by two years, but if we can get a top notch guy like Smith you take him, or maybe someone that would grey-shirt.

That's the key right there. There are lots of schools who take top QB's every year, we can be one of them too.

I like having qb's in the stable, but I just hate to see situations like we had at the beginning of this year, when you have a controversy.

I know that the qb's we are bringing in now are 1 year apart, but if a sophmore is better than the junior then you could have problems, much like Tenn this year when they couldnt decide on a qb.
