No one except for the coaching staff and the recruits really know who has an "official offer". It is quite common for recruits to claim an offer from a certain school, and then for a reporter to publish that claim. The coaching staff cannot discuss recruits, so they cannot dispute the recruit's claim. Now, I'm not saying that such a chain of events actually occurred in Dewey's case, but it would not be entirely unreasonable to draw that inference from the known facts.why does he have an offical offer instead of other players that are in much better shape acadmically and are just waiting for their test scores.
We have listed Dewey as holding an "official offer" because he has stated in published reports that he has one. However, I personally am sceptical, and I imagine that several others who follow recruiting closely share my view. In the end, I would be quite surprised if Dewey were to sign with the Buckeyes.
