'07 MI CB Ronald Johnson (Southern Cal signee)

Folanator, I honestly do not think Tony would try to steer Ronald away from a school and hide things from his mother. That's just not his MO. Ronald took 5 visits, talked to plenty of college coaches on the phone, and got plenty of letters.

I think I know where the hiding information thing came from, and let's just say I'm not surprised. Some people will really say anything to a kid and his mother to land him.

Im curious as to which program you are refering to about the hiding thing...

Think about which program on his list that didn't start recruiting him until he showed interest in them. Carr, Carroll, and Tressel have been on him forever. Dantonio got in on him the second he was hired.

Forgot to add that Annese is sending two of his kids to MSU. Why would he do anything shady or anything that could possibly jeapordize his relationship with MSU? The steering and hiding accusations were/are bogus.

Annese didn't have to steer Ronald anywhere. Mr. Rojo was already sold.

I hope the kid is listening to the right people, and not someone like Jim Brown who could ruin him for life.

Good luck to him in whatever choice he makes.

Correct me if I'm off-base here, but didn't Jim Brown try and talk Clarrett into enrolling at a D-1AA school, or Grambling, or something like that? I thought Brown said he tried to talk Clarrett out of fighting the draft rule and told him that if he played upto his potential at a small school and improved his game that the NFL would still be there.

So somebody is lying here. If it's not the coach or the mom, who?

Based on the way things have gone so far this season, and just an overall gut feeling........I'm thinking that he's going to go to Michigan St. Keep in mind I have no inside info, I'm just basing it off of what I'm reading....

He could probably play earliest there, and could really be a fixture in Dantonio's system.......a program builder type of player. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have the kid. But we aren't necessarily hurting at the corner spot at the present moment. :)

supermario, are you saying that MSU coaches started this rumor?

Do you know that the last MSU staff made numerous trips to his high school and he wasn't even informed that they were there to see him?

I HIGHLY doubt that is true. Annese has sent players to MSU and is sending some to MSU in this class and in 2008.

I do know this though, that Ronald didn't want anything to do with Johnelle. Johnelle was seen as a joke by most high school coaches. IF MSU lands Johnson it's because of Dantonio. Had Johnelle still been in the picture Ronald would've never even visited MSU let alone potentially wind up there.
