I always consider Miami a threat for a S. Florida kid until he says otherwise so I do believe that Miami could end up with him. I can't say the same with OSU even though you have to recent WR from Glades.

fwiw, muckstepper called Dukes to OSU a few days before he before he announced when everyone thought he was going to NC State. I believe he called Holmes to OSU too, tho I can't verify that. He has some connection to Belle Glades

He very well may. I think there is a good chane that he does have ties with the BG team. However people on the National Recruiting Board at Rivals who have BG ties say that he is telling most that he will probably go to Florida. These are not UF fans either but rather Nole fans.

I think he is a little less of a lock than Tebow and Hornsby were. I think his recruitment will play out similar to Jarred Fayson's.

muckstepper is droppin' way too many names and particulars not to be considered seriously. From what I know of smack talkin', you don't drop names and specifics unless you're really trying to make a point. That's usually regardless if you have anonymity (such as on the internet) or not. Yeah I'm Buckeye biased, but until he gets more predictions wrong than right i'll be more than interested in what he has to say. I could give a darn whether the poster is "hooked on phonics" or not as long as I can decipher the info and the info is good.

If Thompson goes to OSU then that is fine. Scared? Hardly. Florida has guys like Percy Harvin, Jarred Fayson, Jamar Hornsby and Justin Williams. We will get a few stud WR from this years class as well. The thing about UF is that we always will bring in highly regarded WR.

I don't know whether or not Tebow had an OSU offer. I know you guys got a QB from Georgia pretty early and I know that Tebow had little interest in OSU. Maybe it was a case where both just moved on?

BTW, this Muckstepper guy posted on the Florida board that Thompson is a Cane lock. He threw Ohio State in there as an outside shot. So if this guy is as good as you say then it is not good news at all for either of us.

The link you gave us is almost exactly what was put on the previous page. It just says Miami's got the lead with Ohio State not too far behind.

Deonte holds offers from Miami, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Georgia, West Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Southern Cal. He does not have a favorite but names Miami, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, Michigan and USC as schools of interest and says he enjoys working out with Santonio Holmes. He does say his dream was always to be a Gator.

Thompson?

I don't know if I would be surprised I feel OSU is in his top 3 with Miami and UF. But I have the feeling we finish second for him behind Miami. I hope Miami and UF have bad yrs and maybe that will sway him to us. I also hope that Albert Dukes gets alot of playing time I think it will definately help our chances.

I agree with you about Albert Dukes.

I think he is the wildcard in the whole recruitment.

If they are real close and he has a breakout year then I think we have a good shot, but if not, I would be real suprised if he comes North.
