Offensive Lineman Has Irish Offer
By Mike Frank
Date: Apr 11, 2005

Cincinnati, Ohio offensive lineman Aaron Brown is a hot prospect. With 39 offers, everyone in the country is after the 6-6, 285-pound Brown. We recently spoke with Brown's father, George, to get an update on his recruitment. Are the Irish involved with Brown?
Recently received an offer from the Irish, that is 39 offers and counting. Plans on visiting ND at some point.

Frickin' Domers.

Before his recruitment is all said and done, I wouldn't be surprised if Brown ended up with over 60 offers. I would stress about this kid and where he is going, but thank goodness for NevadaBuck, I'm confident and just excited to get this kid on board. :)

Just spoke with one of Aaron's HS coaches who I have known for 10+ years. Sounds like he likes Florida and OSU out of all of the schools he has seen. Both are about equal right now.

My friend really likes this kid and thinks he is a class act. Dad might be a bit too involved, but understandable.

I don't understand how a father (dad) can be "too" involved. In my opinion Aaron is very lucky to have a father that takes an interest. Look at all the athletes today that have gotten into trouble and/or made bad decisions at least partly due to the fact that they don't have a positive male "role model" let alone a father in their life. Many grow up without knowing their father or mother.

There's a diference between giving your son guidance/advice on what to do, and putting pressure on him into making in decision that satisfied you over him. Not saying that's what's happening, but rather giving an example of a father being "too involved".

Exactly.

There is a difference between:
A) helping your son to make a decision and
B) making the decision that is best for your son.

I am in no way saying he is being a bad parent, because I have heard nothing but good things about this family. But, we have all seen how a sons recruitment can change some parents into pseudo agents. This may or may not end up being the case. I am just reporting what was told to me.

I am sure I would be on the edge if my son had 50 offers from D1 programs. If you care about the kid, you want to best for him. Completely understandable.
