'06 MN DT Walker Ashley (Minny...no, maybe USC......no, PSU...no, Minnesota commit)

Rivals Premium

Ashley enjoyed his official visit to Minnesota better than his trip to Ohio State but there is "just something about Ohio State. I'd say they are still my favorite."

Ashley is growing tired of the recruiting process and may not trip to Oklahoma. He still plans on visiting Penn State in January. He's not sure when he will announce his decision.

How can a trip to minnesota be more enjoyable than to Columbus?

Other than lack of sales tax on jackets ( ) I'm sure a lot of it had to do with familiarity. I bet he knew a bunch of the kids there. I'm sure he's a lot more familiar with the Minnesota staff than he was with the Buckeye staff before the visits. It's close to home so he didn't have to travel far. Despite all that he still has Ohio State and USC in front of the Gophers. The fact he had a good time up there shouldn't be a surprise though.

I'm starting to feel real good about Ashley, and I am usually skeptical about OOS kids until the ink is dry. The fact that A-he straight up said he preferred OSU over USC w/ no BS is great, B-was able to separate having a kick ass time at his hometown school's official visit from what he really is looking for in a program, and C-is getting tired of the recruiting gig and might cancel a visit to one of the biggest programs in the country-suggest that he is ready to get this thing over with and commit to the Buckeyes.
Who was the last Buckeye from Minnesota before Ashley (hopefully), and Laurinaitis-or has there been one?
Also, it wouldn't surprise me if OSU and Oklahoma fill up their quotas at LB/S, and Alex Daniels becomes a Gopher by default-you heard it here first!

Article from bn about his trip to Minny.

-He says he had a good time, and like the coaches at minny.
-Ohio St. is still his leader.
-Will visit PSU in Jan.(his dad's alma matter)
-He thinks our recruiting class is top 3 material
-Doc Tressel is recruiting him and both him and JT are due in for an in-home.
-Calling OU coaches tomm. to discuss if he will visit there this weekend.
-Getting tired of the whole recruiting process.

Looks like he is ours to lose as we are above everyone so far and he only has PSU to go. Hopefully we get Mo Wells and Rico so he sees this class is only getting better.

Oregon leaving USC

from a poster on BSB...WTOP in the D.C. area had a H.S. football roundup on its show this afternoon and went over a couple of the area's star player's seasons, their post season awards, and their college plans. Concerning Rico they said that he is "Ohio State bound" after his recent and last trip to Tenn. "per the family".
Take it for what it is worth.... HOPEFULLY IT'S LEGIT

absolutely huge. the BN premium board is saying that Ed Ogreron (sp) is going to be hired as the new HC at Ole Miss. That has to greatly improve osu's chances with Walker Ashley as well.
