'06 MN DT Walker Ashley (Minny...no, maybe USC......no, PSU...no, Minnesota commit)

I still tend to think he's just playing the "game" and has been sold on SC all along. It's happened before and it wouldn't surprise me that it's happening here.

ditto for Daniels and Oklahoma.

my prediction on ashley:

he visits minny and ou, says he had a great time at each and decision is difficult now. He claims no favorite and says he needs to think about it. He then selects USC thereby preserving his silent verbal, and allowing them to recruit other 5* DT's.

Agreed...but you also have to be concerned that the last two visits this kid has been on, USC and tOSU, he has left claiming that school as his #1. That is why being the last school to be visited is a luxury. In that case, advantage Oklahoma with Ashley.
I agree in some part with your statement, but don't forget we were his favorite before USC and he hadnt taken a visit. Maybe he was just a young kid thinking above his head and saying beaches, girls, warm weather, and a great football team, and he saw us losing a couple games in a row the national media really down on us so he thought that was a better fit at the time. Now that he has had his official visit, he sees our class and seen what this team is capable of in the scUM game he knows this is the place he wants to be.

Yes, but up to that point he hadnt taken ANY visits. All bets are off once you step on a campus - thats when the real sales pitch begins. Ive seen this story over and over again each year - each visit a kid takes is his immediate "favorite". This is why its best to be last. From the trend I see I would bet on Oklahoma. I am hopeful, but will truly believe he's a Buckeye when his name is on a NLOI.

If he hadnt taken a visit to tOSU and we were his favorite well that is good. Then the fact that he wanted to verbal to USC and then came here and he regained the lead that is good. Oklahoma hasnt been recruiting him as long I don't believe and they were never really one of his favorites. His top have always been Us and USC.

I couldn't agree more...getting him in here with Worthington, Boone, etc. on his official could be the difference maker. But he also is probably going to visit Oklahoma. It will be interesting to see who the Sooners have in that weekend along with Ashley. I also think the fact that we were the first to offer may be crucial in the end.

Not really intelligent as such, he still says the two visits to look out for are the visits he hasn't taken yet.

Which the heck other visits should we look out for?

I dislike this guy more and more every time he speaks.

Walker Ashley says

“I would say right now, Ohio State is in the lead”

Walker was hosted by David Patterson. He enjoyed meeting all the players and coaches. He likes Coach Heacock.

He still likes the fact that tOSU was the first to offer- plus the coaches are telling him that he is a high priority and could play right away.

He really liked Worthington, McCoy and Mathis- the four of them really hit it off.

He says he likes tOSU better than the Trojans.

His remaining visits include Minny this weekend, OU Dec. 17th and PSU in Jan.

He will decide when he feels the time is right.
