'06 MD CB A.J. Wallace (Penn State signee)

I don't think it's that far fetched or uncommon at all. If playing time is paramount in a blue chip prospect decision making the coach has got to tell him something. If a coach says you can come in and play right away, isn't he basically saying that the players in front of him aren't better? What the coach apparently said in this instance may not be the most tactful but it got the point across. If Youboty, or Whitner leave you don't think some OSU coach isn't going to mention it to a player of AJ's purported stature?

Oh, I know it happens. I'm not disputing that. What I'm disputing is the method in which it seemed to be done in this instance. Fine, if you want to tell a guy he can play right away, do that. But I would think it would raise some red flags in kids' minds if a coach openly bashes the kids that he has also recruted there. Just seems classless to sell P.T. that way... There are plenty of other ways to do it.

There is no problem with selling pt, by saying that if you come in and beat the guys out in front of you, you will play. THere is no way to determine how well the recruits will perform in college just by watching thier high school film.

I can't believe that some kids actually listen to some of this bull.

AJ has officially been offered by USC. They are talking about him playing both ways. He will go to Penn St. with JB Walton this weekend on an unofficial. Miami had a coach at his home yesterday, and Nebraska had coaches there on the 27th of November. tOSU will have coaches at his house on Monday, Dec. 5th. USC, tOSU, Nebraska, FSU, and Miami are recruiting him equally hard right now.

A.J. says he has a top six of Ohio State, Nebraska, USC, Florida State, Penn State, and Miami with no leader named. He will probably visit USC and still announce at the Army AA game. tOSU will visit A.J. at home on 12/5, but no coaches were named.

Lackey HS coach Scott Chadwich calls A.J. the best player he has ever coached against. Although lackey HS has only given up a 100-yard rushing performance once in two years, A.J. ran for 305 yards against them. Coach Chadwich says A.J. is equally impressive as a shutdown corner and return man.
