David's team won the state championship; during the game, the temperature was below freezing, but David enjoyed the weather.

FWIW California doesn't really have true "state" championships per se...more like a bunch of regional champs for various parts of the State.

I still have a little bit of hope, though "our" chances dont look good. with Percy Harvin set to commit on Monday, i think he might see too much depth at USC and possibly come East. not likely, but definitely possible

The North Coast & Southern Sections of the CIF are the two biggies, but Cali also used to have a couple of smaller regional groups that were not part of the CIF and crowned their own champs. I have no idea if they are recognized outside of their own governing bodies however.

Preview of the East wide receivers for the Army AA game......

David Ausberry of Lemoore, Calif., may not be a breakaway open field threat, but he is still a very dangerous weapon nonetheless. At 6-4, 215 pounds, Ausberry is often a physical miss-match for opposing defensive back as he will usually out leap or overpower would be defenders. With Ausberry’s size and strength it would not be surprising to see him as a wide receiver/tight end hybrid type of player ala former USC Trojan Mike Williams.

BK is notorious for low percentages on predictions, no matter how solid of info he might have. He seems to play it cool so that if it turns out he's wrong, he's not chastised for it. I still think Ausberry to USC, but he may not be quite the "lock" that everyone is referring to.

Harvin's announcing today, so we'll know soon about him, although most feel he's going to Florida.
