'06 CA WR David Ausberry (USC signee)

This guy is a stud and we can only hope we get him for a visit. As was already stated, he has an official visit scheduled to Nebraska the same weekend that we play Texas. That alone hurts our chances. We also play Iowa our fourth game, which could be a matchup of top 5 teams. Which could also be the second time of the season that OSU could play a top 5 team. In other words, if we can't lure Ausberry by the end of September, the guy is gone.

I'm pretty sure he will visit us but the question is when. Hopefully he comes in for the Iowa game or changes his visit to Nebraska. We have to get him in for an appealing game to have a good shot considering he is most likely favoring USC.

Ausberry on watch list
The Fresno Bee

(Updated Saturday, August 27, 2005, 6:05 AM)

Lemoore High football standout David Ausberry has been nominated to play in the sixth annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 7 in San Antonio.

The game, featuring top high school players from across the nation in an East versus West format, will be broadcast live on NBC.

Ausberry, a receiver who is being recruited by several major Division I programs, is one of 400 players nominated for the game.

In September, a committee will begin selecting the 78players for the game, and if selected, Ausberry will receive an invitation from between Sept. 14 and Dec. 15.

Ausberry caught 37 passes for 738 yards (a 19.9 yards-per-catch average) and seven touchdowns last season despite being slowed by a high ankle sprain.

The 6-foot-4, 213-pound senior is rated third nationally at wide receiver by Rivals.com and No. 10 by Scout.com.
