'06 CA WR David Ausberry (USC signee)

It sounds like an OSU-USC battle.

I dont think he'll be impressed with Nebraska's power attack, and Georgia is going to get creamed this year (unless Shockley is what he's supposed to be...)

I think if our passing game lives up to its potential, Ausberry might just head to Columbus.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is David there?"

"Yes, this is David."

"Hi David, this is (insert Nebraska coach) calling again just to see how things are going, how you've been, and to see if we can get a visit set up for you."

"Oh, OK, things are good but hectic, but sure, let's talk about a visit, I've been looking at your school, as well as some others."

"Good, good. So do you have anything planned around, say, the second week of September? We host Wake Forest that weekend, pretty good basketball team, and we would like to host you and show you what Nebraska football is all about. We feel it would be a GREAT weekend to show you what we have to offer."

"As far as I know right now, I have nothing really scheduled that weekend, but I haven't really..."

"GREAT! So we'll set you up then for the 9th/10th of September, and we can't wait to have you be totally oblivious to the biggest OOC game in many years! I'll tell Coach Callahan that you are excited about the visit and can't wait to get here."

"OK, but I really haven't sat down and looked at that weekend to see where else..."

"SWEET! So we're looking forward to seeing you. Bye!"

If Ausberry is interested in anyone other than USC, then OSU would be one of them, as well as Nebraska, and if he doesn't visit OSU that weekend then I think he is a USC lock. Just my 2 cents. Come on David, at least give us a shot at beating some UT ass for ya!

I agree with that also. We have 2 huge games in our first 4, and 3-0 playing Iowa in the Shoe is quite attractive. I just hope that we really are 3-0. Either way, if we have to pass on Iowa to win, then that would be a very good thing for Ausberry to see first class. Because I think we CAN pass on Iowa and win. Plus as was already stated, we owe Iowa a pretty good one.

I was just referring to the post earlier about how his visit to Nebraska that weekend was not set in stone, and he could still change it. I was just making light of how the visit was set up over a phone call, without knowing anything about any of it. If he backs out that weekend and comes to tOSU for the Texas game, then that's when I think we become serious players for this guy's services.

Yeah I honestly don't think that program is getting turned around anytime soon but thats just my opinion. If they could land some Ausberry's and Dublin's then it's possible. They did get Marlon Lucky last year but no other real notables. I did however enjoy that Ausberry phone call Schwab lol. I still hope he comes in for the Texas night game but if not we really need him in for the Iowa game. If he doesn't attend either I wholeheartedly agree he is a trojan.

From the Michigan site (and heavily slanted)...OSU, USC and Nebraska will get official visits and the other two will come down to most likely Georgia and then either Michigan or Notre Dame.

This sounds like a two horse race...OSU and USC, with USC possibly having him locked up already...

Guess they missed the part where David said Michigan is out (per grad's post at the top of this page)...

david does mention michigan himself, but he mentions them last as one of the schools that will most likely get dropped for consideration for an official visit. it still just feels like he is usc's to lose, but if anyone can pull him away, i think it would be us, not nebraska.
