'05 OH ATH Alex Daniels (Minnesota signee, transfer to Cincinnati)

What confuses me, is that Daniels had opportunities to go to much higher profile programs, such as LSU, Oklahoma, and tOSU - ALL National Champs in the last few years, and chooses Minnesota??

I can't understand going to a school that can't compete for championships, unless you don't want to compete with elite players.

I remember Brett Romberg's remarks about his recruitment - "My last visit was Miami, in January. I went to a class and a few girls came in wearing bikinis to class. I knew right then and there where I was going to go!"

I can understand that choice.
have you not been reading what AD has been saying???? he feels at home with all his friends there. that is a legitimate reason for going there. i hope he has fun.

I'm not at all surprsied he's going to a place like Minny. He comes off like a kid that wants to be the star, have all the attention, and it shows after nearly every play he makes not matter how small..he's always getting up and flexing or dancing around or something.

This doesn't bother me whatsoever.

I simply don't believe that. Girls going to class in bikinis sounds improbable at best, even in Miami.

Test score. I read somewhere both OU and OSU told Daniels he must take his ACT again. This was the real story behind the deferred OU visits and the no official to OSU. Sounds plausible.

Megawoody,
This was the best fit for all parties. Alex needed to get out of town and away from some influences and hopefully compete very well at the next level. Who can fault him for wanting to move away from home for awhile and be independent. Seems there are alot of distractions her in town for him and it would not be good. Good kid who needs to mature a little more outside of an all too familiar setting and work on his scholastic endeavors.
Best wishes to Alex and the family. Hope he has a great career for the Gophers.
