'05 OH ATH Alex Daniels (Minnesota signee, transfer to Cincinnati)

http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/5147669.html

ALEX DANIELS is a linebacker from Columbus, Ohio, the city in which Laurinaitis is planning to spend his college career. Daniels is rated a four-star recruit and among the top uncommitted players considering Minnesota. He visited Oklahoma last week and said to SoonerScoop.com:

"Minnesota was a 10 to me. I loved it so much. I have friends going up there, the Mall [of America] was great ... Minnesota might have had more friends and things like that, but it didn't have coach [Bob] Stoops. That's the one thing that I loved about Oklahoma the most."

contacting alex ten minutes ( on a sunday ) after he returned from out of town....

am i the only one that sees the problem with this??
Had Duane not done this the sheep over at Bucknuts would have been on suicide watch. While it's not great form it's not surprising.

Daniels says Oklahoma and Minnesota are his favorites. He doesn't like all the pressure he is getting to be a Buckeye. But says tOSU is the other school still left in the running. He might not take his tOSU official, he just might stop by and visit. Coach T. is supposed to come by his house next week.

I would not be shocked to see him sign with Minnesota. I have not felt good about OSU's chances for quite sometime now and it just seems like he is looking for every reason not to stay in Columbus. I hope I am wrong...

No home cooking?: Could too much home support be turning off four-star athlete Alex Daniels from his hometown team? It's a three team race for Daniels, but Minnesota and Oklahoma have emerged as favorites while Ohio State has slipped a little.

"All the pressure I have right now to be a Buckeye, I don't like that.", he said. "But Ohio State's still in there."

Daniels probably will not make an official visit to Ohio State, but coach Jim Tressel is supposed to visit in the next week. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops has promised to visit after the national championship game.

Glen Mason in town NOW

He was on my flight into Columbus about 30 minutes ago along with an assistant. I didn't overhear who he's in town to visit, but I think that anyone can guess that it's a guy with the initials "A.D." A few people on the flight recognized him, and I heard him tell his assistant "next time we need to fly into Cleveland and drive down". lol!

He does have dinner plans this evening at a prominent local restaurant, but again, I didn't hear if a certain recruit would be joining him. I hope he's not closing the deal on Daniels, but I don't feel good about this one. Mason seemed to be in a pretty good mood.

As he should be, he's undoubtedly still basking in the glory of being the head coach of the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl champions. Don't underestimate how impressive that is to prospective recruits.

Petie is lauging his arse off at the idea of "Flying Commercial"

lol! My mother picked me up at the airport, and the first thing she said when I told her was, "You'd think he'd fly in on a private jet. That would really impress the player." Her EXACT words! I guess Petey is mom's #1 guy. Sorry Glen. :(
