  1. U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

A few quick thoughts: That ref was freaking awful. Game was completely out of control and he did a terrible job. I don't understand why they play Zardes as a LW when he can't hit the ball with left foot to cross it in... although that one cutback pass to middle was excellent. Thought Timmy...
  2. G D'Angelo Russell (Unanimous 1st Team All-American, All-Star, Los Angeles Lakers)

Congrats on the Lakers' and was super pumped to see him repping the S&G like that. Just think though, if only he'd stayed in school another year...
  3. True Detective (HBO)

Feels like I need to re-watch the first episode. Between time lapses and introduction to a large number of initial characters it felt very all over the place to me, feels like a lot of connections that I missed. Definitely feels like it's going to be less mystic and a lot more gritty.
  4. "Ballers" on HBO

Was somewhat pleased with the first episode... it hinted at some character depth that I wasn't expecting. I anticipated an athlete version of Entourage and while I think that's still high-level what we'll get, the pilot was encouraging in its focus.

Based on that footage: outstanding vision and touch with his right foot. He made a few absurd thread-the-needle passes and is comfortable with the ball in close quarters. Clearly needs a ton of work with his left, he's constantly passing up what should be open shots from the top of the box or...
  7. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Generally agree with the sentiment that as a backup QB he gives you a better chance to win a game or 2 in spot duty than a lot of guys in the NFL might. Don't want him starting a significant number of games, but if we needed 1 win with our backup he seems more likely than a lot of others in the...
  8. NFL Mock Drafts (2016)

My thoughts: Bosa - he'll definitely be top-5 without a doubt, the only question is fit. I'm not sure that he really projects to a 3-4 DE like Watt does, it's not an awful fit but I think he's much more a 4-3 end. So the first 4-3 team who doesn't need a top QB will take him, only question...
  9. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Overall, I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it. Agree completely that OT was a need but as I said taking two implies we are parting with both Whit and smith, which is extremely risky IMO. Good value for fisher for sure and Ogbuehi we picked him when a ton of guys were on the board so...
  10. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Much less happy with our last two picks. Second OT implies we won't re-sign either Whit or Smith which seems extremely risky. And then TE, happy to move on from Gresham but seems early. I guess my biggest complaint is we haven't addressed major needs at least DT and LB. I came in really happy...
  11. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Would have been nice to get someone who can contribute this year but at the end of the day it was a top 3 need so I'm happy with it. Obviously some tackles were off the board but Fisher, Humphries were both there and we chose Ogbuehi over them as opposed to being stuck with him, and our OL...
  12. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Saw a mock today which would make me nut myself: 1st: Malcolm Brown (DT Texas) 2nd: Preston Smith (DE Miss St.) 3rd: Tyrus Thompson (OT Oklahoma) 3rd: Justin Hardy (WR ECU) 4th: Jordan Hicks (LB Texas) 4th: Darius Philon (DT Arkansas) 5th: Charles Gaines (CB Louisville) 6th: Rory Anderson (TE...
  13. G D'Angelo Russell (Unanimous 1st Team All-American, All-Star, Los Angeles Lakers)

Kid is going to be a top-5 draft pick this year with zero line of sight to ever going higher than that if he stayed. Clearly the right choice, thanks for a great year D'Angelo and I look forward to watching you next year.

FWIW Vegas Oddsmakers have us with the toughest schedule in the league: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-nfl-schedule-is-here-ok-calm-down-heres-what-you-need-to-know/ As for Marvin, I personally would get rid of him, but since we're clearly not doing that this year, I like the idea of...

You're my hero for this GIF.
  16. U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

It was pretty remarkable what awful shape the pitch was in. Don't understand why they keep insisting on holding games on these hastily installed fields, not only does it significantly impact the quality of the game but it's dangerous as well.
  17. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Agreed, we've seemingly made some good moves that should allow us a ton of flexibility in the draft, which is what you want. None of the guys we signed in FA are sure-fire stars, but we've done a good job of getting bodies in the places we need them both for depth and a couple upside guys...
  18. Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Signed Denarius Moore to a 1 year deal, I like it. He had his only good season as a Raider under Hue Jackson, and he came cheap I'm sure. If he pans out, he can be a difference-maker as a vertical threat, and if not then we didn't risk anything. And if it means we don't keep Brandon Tate on...
