Cincinnati Bengals (official thread of False Hope 2015)

Much less happy with our last two picks. Second OT implies we won't re-sign either Whit or Smith which seems extremely risky. And then TE, happy to move on from Gresham but seems early.

I guess my biggest complaint is we haven't addressed major needs at least DT and LB. I came in really happy about our ability to go BPA due to few needs but that's only true to an extent. I said we needed to address OT, DT, DE, and LB with our six picks in the first four rounds, and we are now guaranteed to not get at least one.

And then the Ravens take Carl Davis who I loved and wanted us to range in the 2nd... I hate how smart Ozzie Newsome is.

The Jake Fisher pick would have been great if we didn't take Ogbuehi in the first...I agree completely that it sends the message to Whit and Smith that they are gone. Kroft was far from my favorite TE on the board and we could have waited until the 4th or 5th to get a good one this year (Heuerman was available but Denver took him near the end of the 3rd). I really like the Dawson pick, I think he is an OUSTANDING LB...incredible value there and a position of need.

I will say this...fingers crossed on Bennett being available with the next pick, only two away and he is somehow still on the board. Philon would be a good pick too.

Overall, I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it. Agree completely that OT was a need but as I said taking two implies we are parting with both Whit and smith, which is extremely risky IMO. Good value for fisher for sure and Ogbuehi we picked him when a ton of guys were on the board so we clearly liked him, just hate the idea of losing both starters, replacing them with 2nd year players, and using both our first two picks on OT.

Liked Dawson in the third, thought we could have waited on TE and definitely did not see a need for two.

DT, not the guy I would have picked, I really liked Jarrett or Bennett there but that was the one position I thought we 100% had to address, besides...

DE, which we didn't touch. Don't get it, I realize hunt and Clarke aren't that old and were high picks but they haven't shown anything at all. That's by far my biggest issue, we are basically relying on MJ to single handedly salvage our pass rush despite that never being his forte here and his abysmal year last year. Really can't fathom how they don't take at least a 4th/5th round pass rush specialist DE. They better be right on Clarke.

Overall, don't hate it but 100% don't love it.

Well, he is about the only Ohio State player I don't like but he adds some excitement in watching the preseason. I doubt he beats out Johnson/McCarron but it will be fun to watch.
