Maybe, I'll allow it to be confirmation bias that this is a down year for the SEC and they shouldn't have had a team (Alabama) in the playoff to begin with.
I was only speaking to the inconsistencies people complained about back then, not whether they got it right or not. I concluded the post with the fact that the season isn't over. FSU can still prove the committee wrong similar to how we proved them correct in 2014. I don't think they will but I...
That's the history FSU is up against though... had they come in and dominated those games without Jordan Travis they'd be in the playoff. I truly believe that. Urban knew we had to be ruthless to get in that year.
That isn't true though. In 2014 we got in over Baylor and TCU because the Big XII elected not to have a title game. Our 1 loss was arguably worse that year and we were down to our third string quarterback. There was plenty of controversy about the inconsistencies. The only unbeaten was FSU and...
More than one thing can be true. tCun could have a shit schedule but still be considered #1 in the committee's eyes. I'm with @Jaxbuck on this one. You want objectivity and rationality from a subjective and irrational process. That's going to frustrate the hell out of you. No committee process...
The debate isn't FSU or tCun though, it's FSU over UT and/or Alabama.
That said, it's pointless to try to rationalize it because it's more complicated than any 1 thing. If Jordan Travis wasn't injured, they'd be in. If 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks come in and they're as dominant if not more...
Oller: Former Ohio State QB Craig Krenzel rues loss to UM, softening of football culture
Good interview, respect his position that we appear to lack 'dawgs.' Although he should be careful lest Day confuses that for challenging their toughness...
First thing this makes me think of was "The Decision"--where a genuinely bewildered LeBron James couldn't understand why the fans felt betrayed over excited for him to play somewhere else. I hope he's not being advised to lead people on. I think there's a part of him that genuinely wants to come...
This is what I would have expected. At a place like Ohio State you've got to think there is a much wider microscope over improper benefits for student athletes. I'm not surprised in the least it seems wildly less regulated in a mid-major school.
Amen... can't remember why I stopped lurking/posting but surprised to see so many of the active members from my time still around. I missed this place.
