You can always be taught speed. If your running style is bad, and someone helps you improve it, then you will most likely gain speed. Butch Reynolds I believe is working with and will continue to work with Chris Wells on improving his speed and running style.

My biggest concern next year is the Linebackers. We have D'Andrea coming back and that will be huge. Freeman, Hoobler, Kerr, and Laurinaitis should all be competing for the other LB spots. But are there any other freshmen or incoming freshmen that look like a competitor for a starting LB spot...
What are your predictions for A.J. once he enters the League?
I think he's gonna be Tenacious on D (pun intended). But they way he runs around and his knowledge of the game are so important. Not many linebackers have his ability. I think A.J. will make a bigger impact than most top 10 pick...
I noticed that as well. I saw him get up slow after many of his runs. He looked tired or something. But he obviously played well. I just hope durability is not an issue for him.
You can be the most physical and elusive running back out there, but you've got to have durability. That's a very important aspect for a running back. Wells definately took a beating this year. Every team was gunning for him and he held up well.
How strong is he? I don't expect him to be as strong as Hawk or Carpenter, but if he is 225lbs now I would expect him to be pretty muscular at 6ft tall.

I agree, but I also think he needs to be on the field. With his speed there's no reason for him to be on the sidelines. So if there is a linebacker ahead of him in the depth chart then heck, put him at a nickleback or a safety position. Safety's in a lot of ways can play up close to the line of...
I could see him at the OLB position, he would be one of the fastest OLB's but definately undersized. It wouldn't be a bad move to put him at SS either. Once Whitner is gone, Lennix and O'Neal (Glenvile boys) would make a great duo at the safety spots.

Question: Will Chris Wells be greater than/equal to/ or less than Adrian Peterson? (In terms of collegiate career).
I don't think Wells will make as big of an immediate impact in the NCAA like Peterson did. But in time I think he will improve to be the better player of the two.

I hope Tressell doesn't just give Pittman the starting spot. I would like to see both the running backs work for that position. The good thing about having two great running backs is that they will constantly be competing against each other which will make them play better against opponents.

I watched all his videos and he's got speed. That guys is fast. I wish I could of seen him on the defensive side of the ball. Is he as much of an impact player on defense as he is on offense?
Today I watched all the clips on Wells over and over again and I am so impressed. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, because he looked unbelievable. For his size, to be able to cutback so well and his vision are superior to other high school backs. His tackle breaking ability is...
