Yea, the Scout list is pretty crappy. Bynes, Edwards, and Easterling from Florida shouldn't be Top 100 players. However, this IS a pretty special year for Florida in terms of top talent, the depth isn't as good as some past years, but the very top talent in Florida is exceptional. I think...
Miami isn't even recruiting Devine. He's a way from qualifying at a school like FSU or UF, so he's even a longer shot at qualifying at Miami, who uses substantially tougher standards. FSU is recruiting him pretty hard, but they're short on scholarships so they may have to give the RB scholarship...
A few things:
1) I wasn't particularly impressed with Benn either. Great hands, strong body, but looks slow, and isn't that tall. He looks more like a slot/possession type of receiver than a big play receiver.
2) Torrey Davis is an absolute terror of a defensive lineman. He's about 300 lbs...
Apparently coaches who've seen him play are all very impressed. Not sure about everyone else, but I'm pretty sure UF has him as one of the top targets if not THE top target at CB.
It would seem like ND has the easiest track to him. Both OSU and UF have unbelievable DE depth. I'm not too sure about you guys, but UF already has 3 stud DE's committed this year too, although some may move inside.
I didn't say say OSU's standards were low, just that Miami's are high. I'm pretty sure that out of the major programs, only ND has higher standards than Miami. Miami's new president is apparently a fairly ambitious woman who interferes with athletics a lot, she implemented the new rules a few...
That's a bit unfair because Florida produces far more NFL picks, especially first rounders, than Ohio.
Also, Hornsby has already qualified, so grades couldn't have been an issue.
Another thing, Miami does have much higher entrance standards for athletes than OSU, or UF even, for that matter.
UF took 3 WRs(Nelson, Boateng, Murphy) last year and 4 this year(Harvin, McDaniel, DWill, Fayson). On UF's roster, 3 departed this year, and at least 3 more will next year, and all 3 will likely be starters. So UF's depth at WR isn't so terrible, especially when most of the WRs have just as...
I'd be surprised if McCarthy doesn't end up a Buckeye, everything I've been hearing about him as been OSU bound. The only school that could've posed a challenge was UF, and Meyer offered waaaayy too late. He may just be getting a lil cold feet about getting so far away from home, but he'll...
Look for Florida to be your main competitor, UF has already offered, Meyer is a relentless recruiter, and 5 of the top 6 receivers are probably leaving next year.
Well, Coker actually never won anything with his own recruits, not even his own conference. But Tressel of course has done a lot. Just giving you my thoughts on him, I guess you could check out his clips yourself.
IDK guys, the word I'm hearing is that he's waaayyy overhyped. He didn't put up very good stats, look every bit the 4.8 he ran on the field, but does have good vision and strength. In other words, he's most likely a FB prospect wherever he goes.
Maybe it's because he's white? Don't mean to be racist or anything, it just seems that the northern schools have more white players(e.g. I don't believe UF has a single white LB, nor are they recruiting any except McCarthy).
