Aaron Bradshaw

Aaron Bradshaw was viewed as the top center prospect in the national class of 2023. He was 7-feet plus, mobile, and athletic with good hands, a soft touch that extended out to the three-point line, and shot-blocking ability. Production didn’t always live up to his potential though, with his motor and physicality both being clear works-in-progress during his high school years.

It was more of the same this year at Kentucky, especially after his transition to the college game was impeded by an injury that cost him the first few weeks of the season. While he made an immediate impact upon returning in early December, he saw his role diminish as the season went on. He finished the season averaging just 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 13.8 minutes per night.

While there is unfortunately now a pattern of underachieving, what is debatable is how much of that is contextual, after playing on teams built around DJ Wagner throughout high school. What remains undeniable is that Bradshaw’s ceiling remains high if he ever fully commits himself to maximizing his potential. There just aren’t many seven-footers who can space the floor vertically and with their shooting while simultaneously being able to protect the rim and move their feet laterally.

2025 NFL Draft April 24 - 26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay

Interesting that the super rising potentially #2 pick in the draft.......a kid who by all accounts LOVES the spotlight......won't be in attendance, while the draft is in the state where his shitty cheating college exists. It's almost like this whole "JJ McCarthy is a top pick" is all narrative, and he's afraid of looking like the twat that he is all alone in the green room.

“I’m excited to welcome Luke as he’s going to be a great addition to our staff,” Diebler said in a statement. “He has the ability to connect with players at every level and his versatility is really important. He’s been on staff at the collegiate level, and he has international coaching experience as well. Those experiences are going to be valuable for our program as we move forward.”

Simons joins Joel Justus, Jamall Walker and Dave Dickerson on what will be a brand new staff of assistant coaches for the 2024-25 season. Ohio State can still add one more assistant coach.

Simons and Diebler worked together at Vanderbilt for three seasons, where both helped head coach Bryce Drew to a 19-16 overall record and an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

Ohio State hires Jamall Walker as an assistant coach

Jake Diebler continues to fill out his first coaching staff at Ohio State. Just a day after assistant coach Brandon Bailey departed the program to join former head coach Chris Holtmann at DePaul, the Buckeyes announced the hiring of Jamall Walker as the Buckeyes' newest assistant.

Walker, 46, spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon under head coach Bryce Drew, who worked with Dielber at Valparaiso and hired him as an assistant coach when he took over the program at Vanderbilt. He has more than 20 years of college coaching experience, including stops at Ohio University and Illinois, where he worked with former Scarlet and Gray assistant coach John Groce.

"I could not be more happy to welcome Jamall and his family to the Ohio State basketball family," Diebler said in the release announcing Walker's hire. "Jamall's recruiting success, his experience in the Big Ten as well as working with a coach like Bryce Drew were all really important intangibles that I was looking for when filling out a staff. He's got a great defensive mind and a tremendous ability to connect with players. He's going to be a great asset for our program."
