One of my best friends is from Oakland, and his mom (who is a great mom) took him to the theatre to see Boyz in the Hood to teach him about life. It's that good of a movie.
That whole discussion is bringing back a lot of memories. I'm gonna have to go home and scour the net for some hard to find albums I once had. Top Authorities 'Rated G' and Above the Law's 'Uncle Sam's Curse' immediately spring to mind. I still have my 'Guerrilla Funk' CD, but it's to scratched up to transfer to my iPod. :ohwell:
My brother is 8 years older than me. He used to hook me up with dubs of his tapes. I was the most popular kid in fourth grade.

Two buddies and I had him rent Boyz in the Hood for us the day it came to the video store. I think we watched it something like twelve times in two days over that summer. Mom was working a double shift...we had that little ass t.v. CRANKED. She walks in, we didn't even hear her coming. Just so happens she walks in at the part where Trey is telling Furious about hooking up with that chick..."her granny walked in the door...etc..." My mom freaked the fuck out. She thought we were watching a porn. :slappy:
 yeah, predator was a little angy - not as angry as Da Lynch Mob though :slappy: Guerillas in the Mist... I had to hyde that one from the folks
:yow1: Damn that sucks.

The Predator is another one of my all time favorites. "When Will They Shoot" was a fuckin' sick ass song...even if I'm a white devil.
Sucks about your CDs... my mom sold all of mine at some point when I was in college. I bring that up every now and then just to make her remember. I had classics. The Predator and Lethal Injection were both sick. I've been building my collection back up of the old stuff I had, but some of it is damn hard to find these days.
You should check out the song Hussel in the House by Nipsey Hussel. Kind reminds me of some old Dr. Dre shit.

Hussle in the House on ITUNES NOW!!
I'm disappointed in us. :shake:

Fuck man. I had about a hundred CD's. Never let them out of my sight. Little sister begged...BEGGED me to borrow them for one night. Got jacked out her fuckin' car. :smash:

Built the collection back up...had about fifty....stolen again.

What sucks so fuckin' bad about it is, I forget all the shit I had. Like...I didn't listen to them all the time...but I've forgotten so much good music. Out of sight, out of mind.

Cube, NWA, Ghetto Boys...."My Mind is Playin' Tricks on Me" is probably one of the greatest rap songs ever imo. Also loved "Six Feet Deep". Damn...good times.
I bought sort of a UGK greatest hits at a used record store recently, and forgot how many of their songs I knew. Good, good shit. Ah, hell. Speaking of which, we both for got the Geto Boys.
One of my favorite compilation albums...No Limit's "Mean Green"...UGK - Tossed Up...damn I miss my dudes.

"While I was smokin with the young soldiers in the caddi, ya'll fuckin' off ya money tryin' ta be Puff Daddy"
UGK. Can't believe I forgot them. :shake:

My best friend went to college in Iowa. He became friends with a dude from "Pote Ahthuh". Dude gave him a mix tape. Fucking sick shit on that motherfucker. Some straight from the studio stuff. I need to see if he still has it.
So I'll be in Winter Haven from the 10th of March until around the 21st or so....wassup?
Born of Osiris is pretty brutal. I liked your friend's band more though. Lower Definition was probably my favorite of the stuff you recommended. I haven't really been listening to much metal lately.. I've been trying to remix some Nine Inch Nails songs. I've failed all times except once.
