Coronavirus, or Covid-19, Football Impacts

The SEC commissioner said today that their league won’t have postponements this season due to Covid. It could allow for forfeits to occur if one team can’t field enough players.

And if the B1G does the same, does that ruin TTUN’s game plan for late November this year?

1. So, are they saying (and I love the irony here) if Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri "go south", fuck 'em, they weren't going to win anyway? What if the current trend continues - could a coach say, "I'm not putting my team at risk by playing a road game against a team that has experienced COVID outbreaks."

2. If you were Michigan and could duck playing the Bucks and trimming your all time series lead to 6, wouldn't you duck?

FL OT Tyler Booker (Alabama Verbal)

Committed to Alabama.

“It was great just being on campus in my own recruitment,” Booker said. “It’s something I’ve always worked for. It’s something that just proves to me that all my hard work is now starting to pay off. I used to go to camps when I was younger and see older kids on their visits, and I just always wanted to be in that position. Now that I’m in that position it shows you can get anywhere with hard work and dedication and believing in your dreams.”

Booker is very closet to Alabama freshman JC Latham, someone he says he considers a big brother, from their time at IMG Academy together. Another person that helped UA land the big lineman is new offensive line coach Doug Marrone.

“I’ve been talking to Coach Marrone a good amount,” Booker said. “We gel really well. I like Coach Marrone a lot. He’s another Northeast guy like myself. We both know what it’s like to come from I would say not strong football areas and still make it out on top in our respective fields. So I feel like we connect there. And it’s just different being from the Northeast, you have a different type of vibe, you have a different type of hunger, because you know not everybody is being afforded the same opportunities you are. So those two things and just everything we talk about, he just wants to help me pick the best school for me. And at the same time try to show me why Alabama is the best school for me. But most importunely make sure I’m making the right decision for myself. I appreciate him for keeping it real with me.”

Just sayin': It will be intereating to see if Pepper Johnson as the new head coach at the IMG Accademy will help Ohio State's future recruiting efforts at that school.

VA OT Gunner Givens (Virginia Tech Verbal)

Lord Botetourt’s Gunner Givens verbally commits to Virginia Tech

“I’ve been going to Virginia Tech games since I was four years old,” Givens said. “It’s been my dream growing up to run out of the tunnel to “Enter Sandman.” Just going into my decision, the biggest thing was just feeling at home, feeling where I feel comfortable at and Tech was that spot. Growing up around here and being 35 minutes down the road, you can’t beat that, honestly.”

Frank Solich (offical thread)

7 wins this year and he passes Peden for most wins in OU history.

Helluva career for Frank Solich. Announced his retirement, effective immediately, due to a cardiovascular health issue.

Greatest Buckeye Linebacker

Chris Spielman changed the way I looked at football as a kid. First, he was on the freaking Wheaties box in High School. No one else has done it, especially on this list.

Loved the film of Gradishar and Cousineau, knew AJ from Centerville and loved his ability. Laurinaitis is a Buckeye legend. Katzenmoyer could have been possibly the best college LB of all time if he cared at all about school and the other things that would have helped him out. LOL damn he was mean though.

The SI story about Spiels made me dream about football and watching him play it was the picture of everything that was great about football. The guy's personal life only makes me a bigger fan. I'm biased for sure but The best buckeye of all time for me, wore #36.
