Tim Brown (Official Thread)

Heisman Trophy of legendary Notre Dame WR Tim Brown set to be put up for auction

It will cost you a lot to get your hands on one of the most iconic trophies in sports

Tim Brown became a household name in 1987 when he led Notre Dame to the Cotton Bowl and was awarded the Heisman Trophy. Now, you can put his Heisman Trophy in your own home.

ESPN reported Friday that Brown's Heisman Trophy will be up for auction online through the New Jersey-based Goldin Auctions. The auction is scheduled to open on Nov. 19 and close on Dec. 8. Brown reportedly already sold the trophy last year, and it is being auctioned off by the unnamed buyer.

Ohio State @ Cincinnati, Wednesday Nov. 7 @ 6:00 PM, ESPN2

I agree. I think they're a solid 6-9 seed type team depending on how their close games pan out. The juggalos are just overreacting because A) a subset of them have always been after Cronin's head because he's not Huggins and B) many had too much emotionally invested in this game as their big chance to stick it to evil old O$U.

Even though it is us who should have something against them for the way Cronin snaked us back in the day

Game Thread Nebraska @ Ohio State - 11/03/18, 12:00PM (FOX)

The Not So Good…
  • The passing game was erratic at best. It was Haskins lowest completion percentage of the year (aided by two drops as well).
  • Third Down conversions were 33% for the game. But we only had nine third down plays.
The Bad…
  • Three turnovers.
  • Despite limiting the explosive plays, Nebraska held an edge in overall success rate. And the yards per play of 5.49 is still more than a good defense should permit.
Yeah, in addition to "missed tackles" and some of the "penalties", the "turnovers" and "dropped passes" need to get eliminated.

OH QB Jeffery Beverly

THE HURRY UP: MICHIGAN GAINING SIGNIFICANT GROUND WITH ZACH HARRISON, MORE DETAILS ABOUT JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA AND GOOD NEWS ON AIDAN KEANAAINA

BEVERLY RELEASES FRESHMAN TAPE

Back on Oct. 11, I spoke with Franklin Heights quarterback Jeffery Beverly about his visit to Ohio State earlier this season. At the time, Beverly said, "I like how [Ohio State] is a big team and filled with a bunch of kids who want to graduate and earn a degree. I'm looking to just build a better relationship and eventually see more and learn more about OSU."

Beverly, in the class of 2022, has already been on multiple visits to Ohio State and has kept in contact with coaches Ryan Day, Devon Smith and Ed Terwilliger. This past week, he posted his freshman season highlight video.

Sharrif Floyd (official thread)

Sharrif Floyd suing Dr. James Andrews for $180M

Andrews and the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, alleging he suffered permanent nerve and muscle damage following a knee procedure in September 2016.

The lawsuit was announced in a statement by Floyd's lawyer Brad Sohn that was obtained by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

"If you break something, you pay for it," Sohn said. "And this lawsuit seeks to hold the parties' responsible who we allege have done so. This guy went in for a routine knee scope and left without his incredibly lucrative career."

The suit alleges Floyd was told he needed arthroscopic knee surgery and that he'd be out for 3-4 weeks. Instead, he underwent a more "significant procedure" and suffered permanent nerve and muscle damage in his right leg that Floyd and his lawyers believe was the result of a negligently administered pain blocker by the Andrews Institute.

Former Gator Shariff Floyd takes lead in class-action suit against NCAA

Just sayin': Floyd should have worked on a law defgree at Florida. If his cases are actually legit (and I have no reason to believe they aren't), he could save millions in legal fees.

Who bought cheap candy for Halloween?

Well, I made my annual pilgrimage to the candy/holiday aisle on November 1... so I bought Halloween candy for cheap. Does that count.
And yes, I'll be headed that way on December 26, February 15, and the Monday after Easter.
No, buying quality candy for a discount, does not constitute buying cheap candy (dollar tree(

The world is a worse place today...

One of the best men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing died today at 96. Dwight Davis served as a bomber in WWII before his plane went down and he was captured by the Germans where he was kept as a POW.

His story is one of strength and faith. On his last night as a POW being forcibly marched north along the Baltic, he feel asleep on the beach certain that he would not live to see the morning due to the cold. In the morning, he woke under a blanket of snow that he forever believed that's God had used to save his life. He weighed 98 pounds when he was freed.

I got to hear much of his story last year when he spoke on National POW day at the Champaign Aviation Museum and it's an incredible story.

Below is a link to an interview he did with the Ohio History Connection. I haven't gotten to watch it yet, but I expect it will be much like what I heard last summer.

If you have the time, give it a watch. I can almost guarantee it will be worth it.
