2025 TE Brody Lennon

Ohio State adds to its top-ranked recruiting class.

Ohio State continues to see its 2025 class increase it’s top-ranked status, and it has plenty of opportunity to get even better. With good news coming seemingly every time you refresh the headlines, it’s just a matter of time before the next BOOM is announced.

Ohio State lands in-state tight end in 2025 class

BOOM! The Buckeyes added their 20th member of the 2025 recruiting class on Thursday when in-state tight end target Brody Lennon announced his commitment to Ohio State, choosing to stay at home over the likes of Kentucky, Missouri, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

A 6-foot-4, 220 pound athlete, Lennon came onto the scene for Ohio State rather quickly. After his impressive camp performance just a couple of weeks ago on June 13, the Buckeyes saw enough to get in the mix. Fast forward, Lennon recently completed his official visit to Kentucky, but after earning his Ohio State offer, it was more of a matter of when and not if he would eventually become a member of this class as the second tight end alongside Nate Roberts.

The No. 608 player nationally and the No. 30 tight end per the 247Sports Composite, Ohio State needed additional talent in its tight end room. After Roberts was made aware of the potential to land two at the position, the Buckeyes worked quickly and it paid off. Now they have the depth they need in a unit that, while talented, is inexperienced and could use more options.

Position coach Keenan Bailey did a great job this 2025 class of bringing in the top target on his board, and managed to also snag a very talented in-state athlete as well. While this is just the latest great news for the Buckeyes, more should be expected soon.

Commitment No. 21 on the way?

On Thursday, North Carolina native Trajen Odom was a main topic of discussion, as he has been linked to Ohio State as of late. In just the past few days, the Buckeyes were picking up steam on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, and with the defensive line being a top priority in every recruiting class, that’s a welcomed development that shows Larry Johnson is very much still on top of his game.

The Buckeyes got one step closer to landing the eventual commitment of Odom when he shared via his social media that he would be making his college decision public later today at Noon. Set to decide between Ohio State, Oregon, USC, and a host of others, it seems as though the Buckeyes have a significant lead. At this point, it would be a surprise to see him end up elsewhere.

The No. 283 player nationally and No. 31 defensive tackle in the 2025 class per the 247Sports Composite, Odom is a player that has a ton of versatility to his game. The ability to rush the passer from anywhere on the defensive front, it’s the three-technique spot where he will spend majority of his time. If he does in fact pick the Buckeyes later today, this defensive class has only a couple more dominos to fall before cementing it as one of the better hauls in some time.

Stay tuned!
