YOUR 2016 Cleveland Indians Thread (American League CHAMPS!)

Tribe is also tied for the 3rd best record in baseball at 89-63, tied with the Nationals and behind the Cubs (97-55) and the Rangers (90-63).
Red Sox also only one game back of the Tribe are pretty hot. Would be nice to get home field, but personally I'd like to play the Rangers first no matter how it shakes out.

You want our pitchers going back to that launch pad? WTF? We lost 3 of 4 and 2 of those were 7-0 and 9-0. Now it ain't easy to win in Boston either, don't get me wrong, but that band box in Arlington is where pitching staffs go to die.

The best scenario for the Tribe is definitely avoiding Boston and Texas in the Division Series and letting them beat on eachother while hopefully beating the WC winner in the Division Series

Yeah, I get it, but, they are objectively the weakest team, in my opinion. They are pedestrian on the road, and 36-11 in one run games. I'd prefer obviously to have them at home, but, having said that, I'll take my chances with Kluber at their place in the first game. I think their pythagorean puts them at like 2 games over .500. Plus, does anyone in the West have even a moderately competent back end of the Pen? Personally, you put these guys in the East and they are in 4th place and no better than 3rd in the Central.

On the other hand, they're probably too stupid to know any better, and well, "Our Pitchers" are gonna be mostly watching as Mr. Hoynes so presciently pointed out.

77-76 is their pythagorean currently. That lineup is scary though, especially against what the Indians are throwing out right now. The offense is going to seriously have to nut up against Texas or Boston to win. Fenway is Fenway but I like our chances there better than in Arlington. Home field is going to be crucial.

Speaking personally as a fan, the redemption factor vs Boston after the last 2 playoff series against them, both Tribe choke jobs (99 ALDS and 07 ALCS) is pretty sweet. It would be nice to knock them off. Sticking it to Lucroy would be nice too though.

Indians trounce the White Sox, 10-4, to reduce the magic number to three.

The Royals aren't helping, as they are losing to the Tigers, 8-3, in the ninth inning.

Napoli stopped trying to pull the ball on every pitch and ended up with three singles (two to center, one to right) and two RBI (now with 100 on the season). In his previous 30 games, Napoli was 17/130 for a .162 batting average.

Anytime Mcfastball comes in to pitch the ninth inning you know that the lead is safe. Well, almost any lead.

Do not forget about Coco

Fuck 'redemption'. I want a WS title. If that means Cleveland gets it a little easier by not having to go through the Rangers or the Sox, so be it.

I'm right there with you. My in-laws (from western Mass.) provide me another reason for not wanting the Indians to have to go through the Red Sox. Though it would be kind of nice to hold that over my wife's head, since she'll sometimes give me a little crap about the '07 series.
