YOUR 2016 Cleveland Indians Thread (American League CHAMPS!)

I do not understand this rest [Mark May]. Now if they were construction workers maybe I could understand them getting tired if they did that type of work every day for what those guys get paid. Baseball players get paid millions of dollars and they do not even work an eight hour day and they get tired physically and mentally. That is a bunch of crap.

The games may last less than 8 hrs, but the players spend time "working" far beyond game time. Film study, meetings, press interviews, lifting and other workouts, fielding practice and batting practice take many hours per day. Travel time adds lots of hours to every road game --half the season. Don't get me wrong; even the MLB minimum wage for rookies is over $500,000 now so they're clearly well paid. But it's not fair to claim that even shitty players don't work hard.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the batting lineup if Brantley ever returns. I wonder if Santana and Davis will be kept in the leadoff spot or will they move Lindor to that spot and put Brantley back in the #3 hole and if they do do that where does Santana fit in. I guess they could keep Santana or Davis in the leadoff spot and let Brantley hit further on down the lineup until they are sure he is back. It is a nice problem to have and I will be very interested to see how Francona handles it.

While I can certainly understand the demotion of House to Columbus, I am having a hard time understanding the promotion of Gonzales to Cleveland. I know he is one of the best players in the organization I would think that they would want him to stay in Columbus to keep getting AB's. Maybe they are really unsure of when Brantley is going to be available and they need to give José and Uribe some rest.

Weird time for that, considering they are coming off the break.

Maybe they are starting to realize that Uribe is almost a sure out at the plate and will give Gonzalez a fair shot?

Also thank god shithouse is gone

Good start, not coming out of the break with a yakker against the team they couldn't beat in the first half. Of course not having Cat in a Tin shitHouse polluting the bench is good for saving at least a run a game.
